I cannot prove it for myself since I modified the conf files for having scripts running when my computer is usually on.

So basically they fixed this annoying behaviour but keep old help pages. Nice to know.

Tiger was also supposed to do this but the implementation was buggy so sometimes it wouldn't run the scripts if it missed the preset times.

Try setting yours back to defaults and test it out.

Generally speaking, battery life with unibodies is worse than with early 08 MBPs - in my experience. With 9400, it is still very good but not as impressive as it was earlier with a discrete card.

The battery in unibodies is smaller. I do not think - am I right? - that in sleeping mode there is a significant difference in power consumption between the two. That's why you get a smaller 'percentage' in unibodies after a little sleep.

I don't understand why Apple downgraded the batteries on the Unibody 13" and 15" models, then a short time later had miraculously improved Li-Polymer battery tech available for the 17"? I mean, why don't they revise the removable batteries to include the new Li-Poly cells and charging circuitry - voila, better battery capacity and lifespan in the same sized battery.

There are so many questionable design decisions on the Unibodies. For instance, moving the battery indicator off the battery itself is a mistake. If you have a spare battery you can no longer check its capacity without removing the old battery and inserting the new one.

I reckon Apple have been planning all along to migrate to captive non-removable batteries like in the 17". The next 13" and 15" revisions could see non-removable batteries and a switch to the one-piece screw-on bottom case. Then the relocation of the battery indicator starts to make more sense.

My MBP almost loses no battery at all when in sleep. I can leave it in sleep for almost a week before the battery goes empty. There's gotta be something wrong with 90% in 2 hours.

I've recalibrated my battery many times and still, I can put it to sleep with 30-40% charge left and it will die during the night. That seems to be a bit ridiculous.

I have a Clamshell iBook that wont even run 15 minutes on a full charge, yet sleep for a week and wake up fine! There's no deep sleep or hibernation for that thing either.

I don't like how when I shut the lid, the computer stays on for ~30+ seconds to write the RAM to the Hard Drive. I think if the battery is less than 40%, then it should. Otherwise, it should just sleep and hold the memory in voltage.

I find this really hard to believe. This isn't the way it is supposed to work at all.

a week

My point is, I find that a week, seven days a bit of a stretch if left in Sleep mode. I think the general experience is that the batter depletes quite a bit faster than that?

It might be setup for hibernation mode and not really the SLEEP mode.
