Seriously considering getting a Kensington lock and wrapping it around my foot when using it in public.

(Then again, I chose to get a good insurance with the purchase so it'll be replaced if stolen + backing up so it wouldn't be a big issue)

Also, I can relate to most of whats been said in this thread...Kinda sad, BUT this IS my Porsche for now... :p

I've got one:

Whenever your using your MacBook Pro you have the little black duster by your side and wipe the screen every few seconds because tiny specs keep landing on it.

I do that:rolleyes:

I'm guilty of that too

Hopefully I'll somehow stop once the newness is gone

i absolutely ****ing HATE when people feel the need to touch a computer screen. My mom does this, she's pointing something out and trying to touch the screen and I always yell at her. I'm not blind, I don't need a finger print on the screen to tell me what to click. Pet peeve.

I'm with ya.

I also hate people who KNOW they're not supposed to touch the screen, but still put their fingers dangerously close to it when they're pointing at something. It's like, HELLO, I can what you're trying to point at without your finger being a quarter of an inch away from the screen. And of course, once in awhile they'll inevitably misjudge the distance and leave a fat ass fingerprint smudge on my baby. And all they can says is "Oops".

Respect the screen's personal space and there'll be no need for oops!

and what about keeping the original box... with all the plastics and wrappings inside...

LOL...I STILL have my original box and all of it's contents in perfect condition for my late 2003 15" G4 PowerBook Firewire 800 (the first 15" model with Firewire 800 and a backlit keyboard)...:D
I gave the still working perfectly PowerBook to my 80 year old Mom who is now addicted to the internet...:p

Oh, and btw...I STILL clean and polish that old G4 when my Mom isn't using it (which is rare)...:D

I have a 'PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE SCREEN' sticker on my work monitor (A Dell 22") for that very reason - moreso given that most screens don't have that lovely glass in front of them, glass being easier to clean than the flimsy LCD screens.

My day & mum insist on getting waaay to close to the screen. I glare at them menacingly and all they say is 'I WON'T touch it' and then inevitably they do. Grr.

Man its only a screen:rolleyes:

LOL and i thought these were normal thoughts people had towards mbps. i pretty much do/did everything on that list

when its time to shutdown, you wrap the MBP in a nice thick turkey towel despite the speck hard case...

I love my new MBP 13". It's my first mac too.

Had it about a week and it has not had one scratch.
I've cleaned it on the outside, keyboard and trackpad like 3 times with the cloth provided (bottom included )

I wash my hands before I use it and I haven't let any one else touch/use it yet:p

It sits on my protective sleeve on top of my laptop stand so that the bottom won't get scratched. When I take it to uni it sits on the sleeve too.

No one has touched the screen. Not even me haha. So thank god there is not fingerprints on it. Hate that.

I keep the slip that was on the keyboard on all the time when I'm at home. I keep it in clamshell mode when ever possible so dust doesn't get on the screen.

And, I try not to move it around. I like it to stay on my desk. When I take it to uni its inside the sleeve thats inside a laptop messenger bag, but i'll carry it like a briefcase so that the actual laptop doesn't 'move' around as it would if I carried the messenger bag over my shoulder.

I want this baby to be as pristine as possible. When I upgrade when applecare runs out - I want it to be as close to brand new as possible :D
:apple:

I agree, people just feel like they have to touch your screen all the time.

I HATE having even dust on my screen.

I am never farther then 50 feet away from my MBP, keeping the original box with wrappings and paperwork, and I hate it when people touch the screen.

Plus it also has a name: Raxacoricofallapatorius :)
