omg omg the screen touching kills me,

whenever someone touches my screen i want to strangle them.

thats considering its almost impossible to clean a matte screen perfectly.

this should make you all **** bricks -

today I saw an old friend who apparently has become a heroin addict, and who spent a good amount of time in my room, smoking heroin around my MBP (if you don't know, this involves aluminum foil, a lighter, and a ball of sticky heroin, all handled by someone who is high as a kite and doesn't care about their surroundings). I almost had a heart attack before I kicked her the **** out.

the black macbook was always a chore to keep looking nice, I would take one of the big 'school' erasers to the entire case and it would come out looking SOO nice. My wife would just look at me like I was crazy for an hour on the kitchen stool erasing my computer clean. It would get rid of the oily fingerprints and even the surface scratches that were impossible not to get on that soft black case. It would look better than new when done even after 4 years LOL

i absolutely ****ing HATE when people feel the need to touch a computer screen. My mom does this, she's pointing something out and trying to touch the screen and I always yell at her. I'm not blind, I don't need a finger print on the screen to tell me what to click. Pet peeve.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL~ Love your comment!!!
I hate anyone touch it too~ is not good for the monitor anyway!!
I don't need to clean very often when no one going to touch my screen :D

Isn't the smartest if you should move your leg an push the computer of the table

Yah, one of the reasons I kinda put the idea aside..even if it's secured to a table or whatever - the laptop would be fu*ked if a thief grabbed it..Not having it secured to me when out makes me a bit more edgy though, constantly checking who's around and who passes by...If it's in my bag, I'll make sure it's on me or close to me at all times - even if people don't know there's a $2100 laptop in there I don't want anyone getting any ideas.. I wouldn't consider myself paranoid and maybe it'll wear off ones I get more used to lugging my baby around, but there ARE a lot of weirdo's out there. And seeing how easily that guy lost his finger from someone pulling his bag with an iPad in it out of his hands, I wanna take as few chances as possible, but still bring it as often as possible.

There are certain places and certain spots where I'd never bring this laptop, even though I hang out these places sometime. Anyway long story short, I'm glad I got it covered with 3 year full insurance, should anything happen to it I'll get it repaired/a new one, and a loan'er while waiting.

My niece is the worst. Everytime she comes near, I grab it. I have only had one minor problem... she pulled off one of the little buttons.. but it popped back on.

I thought I was a little over the top until reading some of these things. :)

Lol I wouldn't let someone smoke heroin in my house anyway:eek:

yeah, i learned my lesson very quickly. some things you can't be nice about i suppose. luckily the MBP was left unscathed. I don't go nearly to the same extent that you guys do to keep it pristine, but all the same, it is in mint condition. No scratches, no dents, perfect screen, all I have to do to make it look fresh out the box is clean it up with iklear.

One of my friends got married to her MBP; srsly tempted to marry mine.

But then... the idea of consummating our love would violate my general obsessive tendency to keep the MBP surgically clean. Lol! :D
I'd like to see the wedding invitation for that!

1. The girlfriend/wife is out of town and you keep your MacBook Pro on her side of the bed while you sleep.

2. You don't let anyone touch your MacBook Pro unless they have relatively clean hands (doubly so if you're using a MacBook).

3. The only thing you'll ever put on top of your MacBook Pro when the lid's closed is an iDevice, and even then you're wary.

4. You think of the blinking white sleep-indicator light as your MacBook Pro's heartbeat.

5. You gave your MacBook Pro a name.

I haven't gotten to 1. and 5. yet. Haha.
When I got my MacBook Pro, my dad saw it and he put a fingerprint on my screen and I was like DUDE WHAT THE HELL?
...

how about someone using their middle finger when pointing something out. My dad does this and it's like a backwards flip off. I don't understand why he does that. You point with your index finger dad! (I wonder if he's ever learned the song "where is thumbkin?" If what he tells us about his childhood is true, probably not.:D)

1. The girlfriend/wife is out of town and you keep your MacBook Pro on her side of the bed while you sleep. - Yet to have the missus away for more than an hour or so (she works a similar schedule to me and we go everywhere together)

2. You don't let anyone touch your MacBook Pro unless they have relatively clean hands (doubly so if you're using a MacBook). - I don't let anyone touch my MBP at all, except for one friend (he is a tech journalist and knows how I am with my laptops)

3. The only thing you'll ever put on top of your MacBook Pro when the lid's closed is an iDevice, and even then you're wary. - I sat some paperwork on mine today when I cleaned my desk and drawers, I removed the items ASAP!

4. You think of the blinking white sleep-indicator light as your MacBook Pro's heartbeat. - Never did before, but kinda do now..

5. You gave your MacBook Pro a name. - LunchBook Pro (same naming scheme for all mobile devices, ie; LunchPhone for my iPhone).

Guilty as charged for 2, 3, and 5. Though I would NEVER put anything on my mbp even if it was an iDevice.

to answer the topic title: .... you refuse to eat within 5 ft. of your mbp in case any food gets splashed/spilled onto it

Hey guys. I feel the same way about my macbook. I named mine too. I stare at it while its sitting on my desk like it has feelings...haha.

I can't find a thread about this anywhere, but what do you guys clean it with? I just got my macbook (white 13") three weeks ago. I am a tattoo artist and I bring it to work with me. Sometimes I will get purple smudges on it from the stencil on my hands. Even after washing my hands very well the stencil likes to stick...

I also get these spots on the sides next to the trackpad. I can't get them off...

thanks for your advice.

iKlear works great for keeping your Mac clean ... Even Apple uses it

when I do get a Macbook Pro I probably won't let anyone use it but myself. lol

Actually you use the Aluminum foil, put water+sticky ball of heroin in it then heat it until it turns into a liquid. After that you put it in a syringe, wrap something around the less used arm to bulge the veins and then inject it.
I feel totally embarrassed that I know how to use heroin (ironically I've never used illicit substances

Ok, I'm pretty OCD about mine so I'm a bit embarrassed but I:

...

I've dreamt that I've scratched my MBP (Does that count as a nightmare??)

Ditto! Mine is really new and I'm paranoid about scratching it/losing it/breaking it etc etc etc. I ate food & used dirty fingers all over my compaq but have done a complete about face with my MBP ;)

I've had it for only two weeks but my flatmate confessed today she's worried I'm getting square eyes ;)
