I love my streak! Bring on the froyo update! :D

I think it has potential for me. I like the idea of a tablet that makes calls.

This.

Some of us use apps far more than we make phone calls. (I bet I use apps for an hour, for every minute I use the cell phone part.)

The iPhone's screen is a little small. The iPad is physically too big to lug around everywhere. It's like the Goldilocks and Three Bears.

So a bigger, but still nicely portable, screen is a nice feature for all the reasons you wrote, including aging eyesight :)

This is when we need personal global data buckets, so we can use a single data allotment on any device we feel like carrying that day / night.

I like that idea A LOT!!!

I went on a trip this weekend and brought my Netbook, my iphone 4 and my original iphone - all loaded up with itunes Movie rentals and TV shows. I didn't know how long I would be without power access - so I was prepared! It would have been nice to have them all tethered - but since I'm on AT&T I am not willing to pay extra to tether. It's a shame since I have unlimited data - but that's how they roll right now!

ha ha ha leave it to Dell to make something so ugly and unsellable for it's intended purpose.

I'd like to try one out too, as a doorstop or handy wedge to stick under my unbalanced table while using my macbook.

I would rather them push forward with better hardware and software that run together than holding their software back so that it keeps running on old hardware.

iphone and ipad don't have to be on the exact same software since they are very different devices despite both running iOS.

The dell streak is not a cellphone. So what are you complaining about?

i'm not complaining about anything I was commenting on saying iOS is fragmented.

I do think the dell streak is a useless device though. Not big enough screen to make me replace my ipad as far as tablet use, and not small enough to replace my iphone as a phone.

Holy big phone Batman!

I like Apple's latest renditions. Screen size matters

iPhone - iPadPhone - iMac Flip-Phone :D

This isn't primarily a cell phone though...so the size isn't a deal-breaker by any means. It's actually a nice size for this device. The Droid X and Evo are inappropriately large, this is not.

The key word in you statement is unbalanced.

Goo point.

It all just takes time. Everyone has limited resources these days.

Same as it's taking Apple so long to put 4.x on the iPad... and that's even though they control their entire ecosystem. (Talk about fragmentation.)

then again, they're trying to manufacture their whole multitasking experience etc. for a 10" screen up from 3.5" everything is completely different there

this phone is only .7" bigger than the Droid X/Evo and seems to be running an unaltered version (that is, it isn't changed to specifically fit the larger screen, although it does include their own skin on it)

This is going to crash and BURN. The only people who buy Dells are people on a budget or big ass CEOs looking for the cheapest PC purchasing contract.

And who buys something as a tablet first, and a phone second?

Appreciate the effort in the product, but think it stinks.

It doesn't change the fact that this is going to be the device you make calls on. Which means you need to lug this huge 'tablet' everywhere. And you need to hold this book-sized device to your face. A weaker woman would need two hands for crying out loud.

Dell will just NEVER figure it out. More crap devices from a crap company. Thankfully HTC exists.

I would want my iPhone slightly bigger but that's just HUGE. the evo is already too big for my taste. I'd like it somewhere in between the evo and iPhone lol

That thing looks kind of... Ugly? Now does anyone know how much it will set me back and where I can get ahold of one?

Edit: Dell announced they'll release a Cherry Red model. Now THAT will be ugly.

I've tried one, it feels too big for a phone but still too small for a tablet.

It's about the same size as a PSP, which for me, needs to go in a bag, so I'd rather put my iPad in that bag.

The only thing I'd like from this in the iPad is the ability to send and receive SMS messages using your SIM card's phone number.

If they want these things to compete with the iPhone, why are they all so damn ugly? I know design isn't the only important thing, but i've yet to see an Android phone that doesn't look like it was made in the year 1995.

I saw 32 icons and room for more on top of the bottom function bars...

It's big but I actually wish that the iPhone was just a little bit larger. If those rumors about 5" and 7" iPads/iPod Touch become a reality, you'll look foolish.

holy shish kebab!

looks like someones demolished a house and painted a brick to look like a phone. you'll need a rucksack to carry that thing.

I wanna see a side by side comparison of this phone and the iphone. i think the iphone is perfect size :) could possibly make the screen a bit bigger in the future but meh lol
