I know both of these are gonna be under the tree on Christmas morning:
I'm also hoping to have a stick of 256MB RAM for my HP laptop, and "Sex and the City" Seasons 1 & 2! :)

I'm shooting for a nice Onkyo receiver so I can hook some old speakers up to my iPod. :)

I don't get it. You're a dude, right?

Have you even seen Sex and the City? It's, IMO, more of a straight kind of show. Where as Queer as Folk is for people who are gay. Still some of the Eps. that I've seen are hilarious - they're watching out a window and a bed goes rolling by lmao, I laughed so hard when I saw that one. QAF is a show I'd love to get.

Yeah. But the show is hilarious! It is more of a straight show, and besides Kristin Davis and Sarah Jessica Parker at hot! :D It's just flat out funny, and honest about sex and all that other stuff.

Well, I've started thinking about what to get everyone else for Christmas, so I'm thinking of what I'd like now as well. :)

I've asked my parents for a subscription to Eye magazine (which they're doing through me as it's half price for students), and these shoes:

Most of my other relations either give money or ask my mum what I'd like, so I've asked if I can have Amazon tokens to try and make a bit of a dent in the 20 or so books that I'd like. Oh, and my boyfriend had a Muji box delivered that I wasn't allowed to go near, which excites me hugely....:)

And that's about it.

My birthday's just after Christmas, so my mum's asking me about that too. Struggling to think of stuff for Christmas, let alone that....

We're paying off business debt - woo-hoo!

That said, we're only getting each other one nice gift this year.

I'm getting Rob an iPod - he was really interested in them when we looked at them in the Apple Store last night. I can burn him some Harry Potter to listen to. :)

I want time with my kids. I see them 4 times a year, but haven't been with them for Christmas for 3 years. That will do me just fine ... and this year it will happen ... :D

So ... this year for me there are no gifts and no money ... just time with people I love.

I really, really hope you get your Xmas "gift". I have nearly tears in my eyes to read that you didn't see your kids over last couple of Xmas and this is what you really want.

Who cares about all those products and "unpersonal stuff" mentioned here?

I never said anything about it being a gay show. It's just more of a chick show. I've never heard of a guy watching it, ever.

Is listening as good as reading? How do the audiobooks stand up?

I know of plenty of guys (and they're all hetero by the way, seeing as you might think it matters in this situation) and they all get a kick outta the show. It is funny whether you identify as a man, woman, straight, gay, or any other label in between.

I was watching a few episodes last night on HBO On Demand.. to bad On Demand isn't in HD... Great show, talented writers, semi-talented actors, overall i like it.

Oh, they are freaking excellent. I've both read and listened to them and listening is just as good, IMO. The nararrator is splendiferous.

I'm reading them now, on the Order of the Phoenix, about half way through and loving it. I'm just curious if the audiobooks are worth it, they're really expensive. Is J.K. Rowling the narrator?

Ahhh, the voice of the Guide in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Excellent.

Umm, iTunes lists the narrator as Jim Dale.

There are two narrators. Jim Dale does the American versions and Stephen Fry does the British versions.

I have the Stephen Fry versions and they are pretty good. Some of the voices sound somewhat the same but it is not to bad.

Deffinantly worth getting the audiobooks!

I'd like to see peace on earth.

I'd like some time alone with my husband, where we have a nice meal on the good dishes, dress up a little, dance in the living room to some old Squeeze music, the relax on the sofa and watch Magoo's Christmas Carol sipping some good red wine.

And no interupting phone calls.
