Ebay sales before PayPal was cumbersome and much more risky. It was basically giving out credit card numbers over the phone or prepaying with a money order and hoping to get your stuff. For small sellers it was equally difficult.

Given the alternative, it's much safer.

completely true and they are extending their claims and dispute period to 180 days. They are completely pro buyer just like ebay which is odd since the seller pays all those fees and monthly invoices:eek:

180 days? Wow what a joke. 90 days was too long to begin with. It should be 30 days after delivery. We are talking used items here. In half a year, wear and tear means a lot.

Oh I almost forgot my favorite dealings with them. My paypal and eBay accounts are well over 10 yrs old. No negative feedback or disputes. A year or two ago I made a sale and they held my money. Upon calling, they claimed my longevity meant nothing unless I was selling at least 25 unique things every year. Otherwise, they hold my money until confirmation of delivery or a positive feedback.

Then magically 2 months later they dropped that. I still despise how a seller can't give a buyer a negative rating. Plenty of buyers deserve a negative rating for many reasons.

I'm pretty sure eBay just plain hates sellers.

I recall that two years ago, some people suggested making a separate bank account with a small amount of money. In that case, if we get screwed, we don't lose that much.
