iPhone 1 2007

It was truly magical.

My cousin bought me and him both one after I kept telling him about it. Once I gave him the pitch, he gave me 1200 in cash and I went to the nearest AT&T store before he could change his mind. I've had every iPhone since.

My first iPhone was the original iPhone, which I got for $249 refurbished from AT&T in March 2008. I was still in high school finishing up my last year, and out of 600 seniors, myself and 4 others had the iPhone. I bought it, but my parents paid me back, as a graduation gift. We were the cool kids :p JK, but we did stand out in a sea of flip phones. I "activated" it and used it on T-Mobile using iPlus (a primitive jailbreak/unlocking tool back in the day). I solely used Wi-Fi and had no data plan.

I still remembered downloading a bunch of fancy graphing calculators and showing them to my AP Calc teacher. He was amazed (at the time) that a phone could do that.

Since then, I've gone through a white 3GS, black and white iPhone 4 on AT&T. I sold the black one for a white one back then lol. And now, I have a white iPhone 4S on Sprint. After just graduating college in chemical engineering in June (exactly 4 years since graduating high school), I now have a good paying job to pay for new toys and cell phone bills.

So..originally I'm from Bangladesh. I moved to USA like 2 years ago, and before coming in I dreamt of getting the beautiful iPhone 3GS. But I was in luck, and there were rumors of the next iPhone, and Giz had their hands on it! Stayed 4 months with the phone I brought from Bangladesh (Which was originally sent to me from here by my uncle. It was Nokia N70.)

I have followed iPhones since the first one was released. But unfortunately Bangladesh is far behind every country and buying an iPhone there would've been completely useless. The country doesn't even have 3G over there, till now! They didn't even have proper working Edge till like some years ago.

And so..4 months later..I was finally able to get it. Everything was as I thought it would be, amd some even better!

I mean..come on..Maps..The world wide web at your hand..IM apps! It was merely a dream for someone who lives in that country..xD

And to this day I love my iPhone 4. And Ofcourse I can't wait for the iPhone 5 announcement tomorrow! =D

I tried Androids (I have a Nexus 7 too)..Windows Phones..over the 2 year period that I had the phone. but nothing satisfies me as much as the iPhone (Or any Apple product for that matter.)

I started with iphone 1.0. Originally, I wanted a pda-phone so I had saved up money already to buy an ipod and blackberry; I hadn't pulled the trigger, because I thought the bb was hideous. Unfortunately for rim, when Jobs showed off the iphone, they were a distant memory.

The news had me obsessed and wanting more information about this new device. During the time I waited for the release, I went looking for information on the iphone and came across macrumors. :D

The phone was pretty much everything I wanted. Using the maps app was so great when I went on vacation in NYC. Obviously, I loved having my ipod and phone in one device; there was no issue of separate devices. My friends and I loved being able to google things when we had a discussion about something. In fact, my friends with blackberries were asking me to google things on my phone, even though they could've technically used theirs. When I asked why, they told me it was a bitch using the internet on their phones. Until they told me that, I didn't realize the internet experience for other phones was that different. When they showed their internet to me, I was repulsed and glad I lucked out.

The only things that marred the experience were the lack of custom ringtones and the reception from the metal body. The former was easily taken care of thanks to the hackers who popped up. Luckily, it was also pretty easy.
As for the reception, it was somewhat blocked due to the metal casing, so I always roll my eyes when some fool suggests the next iphone should be all metal.

Interestingly, when my dell died, I was looking at these computers pre-loaded with vista with disgust. Looking at the mac, I decided that anyone who could bring out a phone this awesome would probably also give me a good computing experience. It turned out I was right and have been enjoying my apple experience ever since.

I started with the iPhone 3G. My friend gave it to me as a gift for my high graduation in May 2009. I fell in love with it instantly. Then the iPhone 3GS was announced in June I believe and after returning from New York City with another friend and his cousin, both of them having the 3GS, I signed my first contract and got the new 3GS. Then upgraded to the iPhone 4. I currently have the iPhone 4S now and plan on pre-ordering the new iPhone.

I had been using a dumb phone and iPod Touch combo for quite some time when I decided that it would be nice to consolidate things and have a smart phone.

I first purchased an Android phone because I had heard about how great the flexibility was supposed to be. I wanted a phone that wouldn't be much bigger than my dumb phone, so I went with one that was under 4", had decent looking reviews, and was fairly inexpensive. Unfortunately, Best Buy only had plastic mock ups of the phone, so I didn't realize until after I made the purchase that the really nice Android also tend to be ginormous.

I played around with it for a day, but ultimately realized that since I liked my iPod Touch so much, I would probably be happier with an iPhone.

I returned the Android and bought an iPhone 4S. I've been incredibly pleased with it. Love that it is a great working (and looking) phone in a small package. Love that I didn't need to buy all new apps. Love that I was able to play with *working* display models at the Apple Store for about three weeks straight as I tried to make up my mind. Love that it works so well with my MacBook.

I got my iPhone 3GS as a birthday/congrats present to myself after finishing one of the most difficult terms of college. That phone changed my life!

iPhone 4 November 2010
I went to the AT&T store in Walnut Creek, CA (anyone nearby? :) ) and proceeded to look at some phones. Then, for the first time, I picked up and held an iPhone 4. I was shocked. How could I device be so thin, yet beautiful AND perform like none other? It was amazing! I was actually tempted to get a Galaxy phone, but the iPhone was still faster and easier to use.

I remember leaving for vacation and stopping by AT&T to pick up the original iPhone. Only a very few people in town were able to get the first batch.

After purchasing the phone, I was excited to use it on my trip. I hadn't brought a laptop along for the journey, and was too far on the way to return home to activate it. The AT&T rep pointed me to a Best Buy in the shopping center to try to activate it on one of their Macs. After a few odd looks and lots many attempts, I was able to find an iMac with an internet connection. I fired up iTunes and the rest was history. Within a week, I returned it. Like Max OS 10.0, it wasn't really quite ready for primetime. When the 3g came out, I never turned back again, and have been using each new release since.

September of 2009

on my birthday i had received 2 iPhone 3Gs (Returned the one purchased on contract), stayed up all night downloading apps and playing Tower Defense till i beat the whole game in 1 night. That iPhone went through hell and died early 2011 there isn't a day where i don't miss that iPhone (it was swapped for a 3rd gen iPod Touch) it was Black...ah good times

My first was a white 3G that was given to me as a birthday present. Man, I was blown away at everything the phone could just "do."

I distinctly remember the actual day I got it. After we left the Apple store, we drove over to a Target to pick up some Targety things and I couldn't take my eyes, or fingers ;), off the screen. Needless to say, I ran right into one of those support beam poles. It was worth the brief embarrassment though.

I've had the black 4 since launch and that fat girl has been dropped so many times and has never cracked once. It's been a great phone, but she's tired. Ready for the info tomorrow. I feel like the leaks/rumors most likely being true, still haven't quite hit it on the head of what exactly the finished product will look like.

/endstory (sorry it was so long!)

I got my first iPhone in 2008. It was an iPhone 3G in black with 16GB. I got it on the launch day. It always worked the way it should. It is still running fine, even with iOS 4.2.1.

Now I am using an iPhone 4S as my main phone.

Before the iPhone I thought that android was awesome. I use to have the htc hero with sprint and I had that phone for a while untild it started to give me problems. Then I switch to the evo and the same thing with the darn phone. Untild I met my fiancé she had the iPhone 4 and I started to play with the phone and I love it. One year later I got the 4s and still love this phone. I'm just waiting for the update and I will probably get the iPhone 5 later on. But for now my 4s is still working just fine for me.

My first iPhone is an iPhone 4S. I was from Android.

I had a problem with the battery life at the very beginning, which was fixed with a complete restore.

Since I have built two Apple ecosystems, one at home (Mac mini, MacBook Air, AirPort Extreme Base Station, AirPort Express, Apple TV, iPad) and one in the office (Mac Pro, MacBook Air, Mac mini, Time Capsule), I feel very good about using my iPhone 4S.

Had a 3G and it did most stuff I expected / hoped for.

I held back buying an iPhone earlier because I believed it was too large. And then it was the first phone I actually carried in my front jeans pocket. The rounded back was very nice for that.

iPhone 4 was a step back in that regard. But iPhone 4 was stable enough to use it without case (hate them), while 3G plastic back got scratched, even cracked only from lying around.

Got my first original iPhone when a buddy of mine traded it to me for my Blackberry Curve 8300. Lol
