What a total joke. How could you go and rank 14 phones and not include one android phone? Heck, Android has better customization than a jailbroken iPhone. How do you rank a Pixi Plus and not an android phone. These lists are biased and bull.

Because it's his opinion?..

Of the 14 phones, only 6 of them are still around. The other 8 was either sold, lost, or given away to a relative or friend.

My current phones -

1) iPhone 4 - Still the best. My main phone I use. Wins in most categories. Nuff said.

2) Pixi Plus - Got this a month ago off Craigslist. AT&T version and 10/10 condition. Love webOS and the helpful homebrew community where I installed several patches and even FREE games like Angry Birds. I don't like that webOS doesn't have Bluetooth data transfer and lacks apps. And the things I dislike about the Pixi is it does lag and it can freeze out randomly since it is underpowered which forces me to take out the battery cover which is a PITA to do. Feels good in the hand since the width is narrower and fairly thin. Screen is a bit washed out and a 2.63 inch is just not enough for a touchscreen. If Bold is the masculine phone, then Pixi is more for the feminine side. Makes a great backup phone to the iPhone 4. Can't expect too much for a $60 bargain considering an iPod shuffle cost nearly just as much and has no screen! This phone has the potential to be my 2nd favorite phone ever because I adore webOS, but the random rebooting is what is holding it back from being a GREAT #2 to the iPhone 4. It nearly reboots as often as my original iPhone.

3) Bold 9000 - Even though this phone came out like three years ago, has surprisingly good music player with loud speakers. Just got a used one for $80 on Craiglist two days ago in a 9/10 condition and already ranks as my 5th favorite phone ever. Hate a few things about it like the BB Desktop Manager and the occasional lag. The camera and video player also sucks although I don't expect it to be good since it is a business phone and not a multimedia one. Web browser is mediocre. But overall for a messenging phone, very rock solid for $80 bucks. Among Top 3 in my fav design although a bit too wide and thick. Love how easy taking out the battery cover unlike the Pixi Plus. Will use this when I travel. Has potential to move up if it remains stable for me. But maybe never catching up to the N82 or Pixi since its web browsing, camera, and video streaming is either average or poor. But an excellent messaging phone with a surprisingly good music player, nonetheless.

Sanyo SCP-5500 - Can't turn on anymore even after a charge. Battery is completely dead. Plus, it is a Sprint phone. GSM is better for the longer term and for switching. Just keeping it for a memento as it was my fav phone from 2004-2008 before I got my first smartphone which was the N82.

Sony Ericsson T616 - Can still turn on, but hard for me to go back to a dumb phone. If I want to collect phones, it must have Wi-Fi in them. Stay connected to the internet. Many collection with those cheap Virgin Mobile flip phones without Wi-Fi or any music player becomes paperweight to me. GSM + Wi-Fi + any music player is a must.

Samsung A107 - Only got it from my $25 AT&T giftcard. Used it for an alarm for a couple weeks but is now in my drawer.

Want to add a Nexus One to my growing smartphone collection. Classic Google sexy phone. Also the Xperia X1 just for its looks and Xperia Play for the gaming aspect. Samsung Focus is also on my list.

My first 10 phones before iPhone 4....

^^ I like his last few phones. Much better than most collections I see on YouTube filled with prepaid flip phones from either Virgin or Cricket and hand me downs.

Gave phones of all time are as follows. 1) the droit incredible, it was out before iPhone and the first widely available phone with a 1ghz processor donut felt like the fastest thing to ever make calls. 2)iPhone 4. Overall, I owned an AT&T iPhone til vzw got one, and since vzw got one, it is my all time fav phone, only second to dinc bc dinc was first I had with 1ghz. 3) my phone I bought for HS graduation in 03, it was a LG flip phone, and the first ever with a true color screen, not a blue or green screen, but a color screen like a color tv. It was indestructible. It made it thru senior trip, lots of sand, the ocean twice, and enough alcohol to kill Andre the giants liver. 4) last but not least: motorola star tac 3000. Bc as far as I know, that was the first flip phone ever.

Also I have a small collection of phones, including a fascinate(galaxy s1), thunderbolt(only for LTE, and first ever LTE phone), still have my incredible, and iPhone 4, will keep all of these when I get 5.

My HTC HD2 (current phone) is easily the best phone I've owned yet. The versatility of a phone that was released in 2009 and can still compete with most phones out on the market today doesn't cease to amaze me. Not to mention the fact that it can run pretty much every major mobile OS (save for IOS) gave me a chance to change up my phone at a whim. Although I will be upgrading to an iPhone 5 upon release, I will still be keeping this old phone around to continue tinkering around with until support for it stops.
I hear the HD2 is a great phone. Most versatile phone ever.

If I wanted to collect phones, it would start only with smartphones and the Wi-Fi browsing is fast enough where it doesn't bother me too much. I can live with 600Mhz processors if the browsing is good enough and it has enough RAM where it doesn't crash so often. Many apps are just website launchers, so I can always look up the info off the net.

I like to buy second hand phones off Craigslist. If the smartphone is at $60-$80 and in fairly good condition, I would buy it ASAP. My Bold bought for $80 used has a few nicks around the bezel, but I can always replace it. My iPhone 4 only gets charged twice per week at most now ever since I got the Pixi (the girly phone) and the Bold (aka "THE BRUTE")

These smartphones are basically a portable PC in our pockets, so $60-$80 is a bargain sometimes for some of them. Cheaper than some mp3 players if bought used and far more useful. Harder to go back to dumb phones since it lacks Wi-Fi and such. I'd rather collect smartphones from about 2008 and AFTER. I can tolerate its speed. I would still be using the original iPhone and could tolerate the browser speed if I never sold it and it didn't keep randomly rebooting on me at least twice per week.

For older phones, I like...
Nexus One (seen one used for $100 at CL just last week!)
Xperia X1 (even though it is slow as hell, I love the design)
HTC HD2 (dual boot WP7 and Android. Nuff said.)
Samsung Focus (less than a year old, but this one can be bought used at $150 sometimes since WP7 is unpopular like webOS)

The newer ones from this year, I like...
Xperia Play (first PlayStation phone although my PSP already has emus)
Samsung GSII (for pure web browsing speed, Android is the way to go)
BlackBerry 9900 (the 9000 classic design returns)
Nokia N9 (I miss owning a decent Nokia phone)

Some great phones have been mentioned here. SE K900i was definitely a classic. Never had one, but Xenon flash inspired Nokia to add it on their N82.

And I am beginning to understand the appeal for BlackBerry. Their premium brand for business users and young professionals just doesn't disappear after a decade. I can't help staring and using my Bold right now. RIM will always have their niche.

What made me start this thread was because I was viewing phone collection videos on YouTube last night. And when I collect, I prefer a quality collection over quantity and most I've seen were cheap prepaid flip phones. I am very picky on phones I want to buy next and it gets planned months ahead. I might just get 3-4 smartphones. One for WP7, Android, QNX, and Meego (N9). From there, I can end it. Although HTC HD2 can eliminate a couple of them.

I like how this guy has the Xperia X1 (2008) and Nexus One (2010) in the same video. Very rare to compare the X1 vs the N1.

^^ Two older phones I want to add to my collection. Xperia X1 is slow though compared to even the Bold.

This is going to sound totally cheesy, but I LOVED my Sidekick 2. It did everything I needed a phone to do. It doesn't beat my iPhone 4, but it was a great phone.

I also forgot to mention that I love WebOS as a mobile OS (it's probably actualy my favourite). The only reason I never owned a WebOS phone was because the hardware has always been atrocious. I was saddened by the news HP would be droping WebOS support.

On another note, I have this picture in my signature over on xda, but I think I'll post it here too. These are all the phones I've owned (the iPhone is notably missing because it technically wasn't mine even though I used it for over 3 months :D). My LG KF510 (third phone) was very well built and sturdy. Loved the build quality of that.

Same here.

I think webOS is the Sega Dreamcast of mobile OSes. Underrrated and unpopular. Overtaken from bad timing and better hardware and third-party software support from its competitors. Palm was bleeding money just like Sega did ten years ago. It breaks my heart to see Palm go out like that being they popularized the PDA market and were pioneers of the smartphone era in the early 2000's. The iPhone's threaded text messages took the idea from the Palm Treo. I still don't want to believe in anything HP says.

When Noah Kravitz went out a sad rant with webOS for 17 minutes, you know it bothered alot of people who have experience with webOS.

^^Reused many times and still doesn't get too old depending how well written the captions are.

I was thinking of selling my Pixi just to get a TouchPad for $99 today. I only got it for $60 and can turn around to sell it for a profit. But the TouchPad has plenty of bugs, so maybe not. Pixi will be just my bittersweet reminder of Palm and I don't want to see "HP" on it anyway. The Pixi represents alot of what went wrong with webOS. It is an entry-level phone, but still alot of random hardware problems even if the OS is phenomenal. The Pre was the same way and that was supposed to be on a higher bracket.

My fav phones tends to gravitate toward stability and features. Design is actually the least important to me. You can always replace the parts. The iPhone 4 has all that. I rebooted my Bold 9000 three times today because of memory leaks and the browser is horrible. My Pixi can also get that at least 1-2 per week. My iPhone 4 has rarely froze on me. Maybe once every 2-3 months. That is why it takes for the top spot. It isn't the most durable phone I ever had and isn't perfect since no phone is, but iOS is the most stable mobile OS out there with the best ecosystem and app support.

Very well said. I was toying around with the idea of getting a $99 TouchPad as well just so that I could have a piece of WebOS before it disappears completely, but again it's the hardware that's stopping me.

http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/19/was-webos-tested-on-an-ipad-done-in-by-its-slower-hardware/

Now if someone could make the iPad 2 dual boot WebOS and IOS then I would love them forever. That would be the perfect combination of my favourite hardware with my favourite software.

NOKIA 3210.. that thing lasted until you didn't want it anymore.. it had everything back then, snake, and text messages!

Motorola Star tac followed by the Razor. That's when phones were phones and computers sat on your desk, not your hip.

I will admit I really like my iPhone4

iphone and Motorola Razr. I loved my Razr sooo much. If only it had the functionality of current smart phones I don't think I would ever stop using it.

the original Nokia 6120 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_6120. Had buttons like an HP calculator, simply the best.

And eventually you could get these big batteries on ebay that would give, literally, days of talk time and about a month of standby time. It was awesome, lol.

Then the Blackberry Curve 8310

Then the iPhone 4

Those are the standouts in my memory. Though I do give honorable mention to the Nokia 8260.
