I've been using a Nostromo for years on my PC/Mac, first from Belkin, then taken over by Razor and now discontinued.
I noticed an outrageous price online for a new one, $310 at Amazon, unbelievable. There are some reasonably priced Nostromo's to be found online at places like eBay. Or there is the Razer Tartarus ($69 discontinued?), or the more expensive Razer Orbweaver ($100). Links Perishable.

I'm still a fan of the Xbox 360 controller, but the PS4 controller is growing on me. I've been switching back and forth between them on my Mac.

For a game like Heroes of the Storm which relies on QWERD, 1, 2, and designates movement by right clicking on targets or the ground, I'd have to see how that works with a controller. Any experience in this area?

I've never played that game -- I don't even know what kind of game it is aside from it being made my Blizzard (I think). Then again, I didn't think Diablo 3 would really work with a controller, but I've heard it does fine on consoles.

It's a MOBA like Dota. I much prefer HOTS.

I used the G13 from Logictech with WoW and it worked all right. Just bot Shadow of Mordor Steam/Feral and was thinking about the upcoming Steam controller. Any thots?

For FPS its keyboard and mouse for sure, otherwise if I do use a controller for say third person games or platformers it is a PS3 controller

The Nostromo acts as a comfortable keyboard with programming options, and additional control accessibility. But for a simple FPS, if I don't need it, I can get by with a real keyboard.

like the ps3 controller honestly. real simple but feels great. I'm excited to try the steam controller as well^, looks like it could be great!

It has to be the Xbox one controller for me. I still stick to keyboard and mouse for first person games, but anything third person I go with the XB1 controller.

Thrustmaster Cougar Hotas with FSSB2 mod. It's freaking metal, weighs about 15lbs, feels cold and solid to the touch. Makes you feel manly when you press against the force sensors.
