Your Favorite Mac?

B&W G3. very ground breaking machine for apple and still serves a useful purpose for many today. it first came out in Jan. 99.
 
Gotta say its my Ti PB 1Ghz (soon to have 1 gig of ram and a 100 GB 5600rpm internal HD).

Never had a kernal panic in 3 years of hard use, and still looks good enough to make new Al PBs a bit jealous! 😎
 
original rev a ibook

i used this 300 mhz machine almost daily from december 1999 through 2004, then the dual 500 mhz g4 came into my life as a computer to babysit and since then, i have rarely booted up the ibook

what a difference from going from a single g3 to a dual g4...i suppose if i got my hands on any g5 imac or g5 power mac, i would not touch the dual g4 that much anymore

and one day someone here will retire their dual g5 for apple's next generation computer and the evolution will continue

before i had the ibook, i used a power tower for a year and that thing seemed so fast at the time with its 604e power pc processor speeding along at 185 mhz and 64 freaking megabytes of ram
 
I always wanted one of the original "toilet seat" iBooks. Always thought they were gorgeous. And I managed to get the Indigo one, which I consider the prettiest (they should have had a grape one, though, with the ice plastic...).
 
My favorite Mac would have to be my eMac 1.25GHz Combo which I currently own now. I got it in October 2004 and it's been the best computer I have ever owned. It's fast, affordable, reliable and loaded with tons of features. Yet if you meant design I think the iMac 1.25GHz 17" G4 is the sexiest computer alive. The new iMac G5's can't compare. 🙂

worked my ass off all last summer so I could afford to get it. Served me well through my first year of uni. Got glances, got girls coming up to me. 🙂
 
My favorite mac: Nextstation Turbo!

Oh wait, that's not technically a mac, even though it was made by Steve. Okay, I guess it would be the TiBook 1ghz that I'm typing on right now.
 
My favorite computer throughout time was the Powermac 8500. The computer I found myself staring at in awe for weeks when I got it was my dual G5. I hated my MDD G4 and hate the imacs, emacs, ibooks. Basically my favorite computers are in my sig. This is why I still own them.
 
my favorite has to be the 12" PB. i loved the size of the 12" iBook back when there was only the 15" tiBook but when the 12" PB came out, it was perfect. small ultra portable size. lots of power (compared to my G3 iBook i had) and was much more sturdy and had a much better keyboard (the G3 iBook honestly felt cheap to me, i think it was the keyboard that did it) the only things i would want different are on the larger pbs (so maybe my favorite would be the 15" pb, except the portability of the 12" really plays high in my book) i would ad usb2 (on the new 12"pbs) 128mb vram (come on 64 is still kinda small) backlit keyboard (jealous of the 15") and gigabit ethernet (again jealous of the 15")

the indigo and key lime ibooks had the added advantages of dvd, cd burning, and firewire

i thought that was the ultimate, and then came the icebook with two usb ports, firewire, relatively large hard drive, and lots of other stuff, and under 5 lbs.

and then the ibook got the g4 processor and superdrive

what's next for our ibook? (what i would like to see is a package under 4 lbs, centrino, 1 gig of ram standard, superdrive, and a 100 gigabyte hard drive...all in 2006 sometime)

not possible? then check out www.dynamism.com to see that our pc competitors have had the stuff for over a year
 
Mine has to be the Macintosh Plus I bought one at a church rummage sale for like 5 bucks. It came with a bunch of games. I used it for a long time. And plus it was the longest mac in production. Something like almost 5 years! Also its the same age as me. I had like the cooling an for it and I was always buying softare for it off of ebay. I remember playing crystal quest, dark castle and any others on it. Still have it around here somewhere. Good Stuff

powerbook or imac

Since so many of you prefered your powebooks to desktops, I have a question to pose. I am looking for a new computer to replace my PC desktop, I could go with the powerbook or a 20" imac. What advice would you give me?
 
My favorite mac was the first computer my family ever owned........... the Apple IIe!!! WOOT!! I owned that baby from the late 80s to mid 90s. When everyone else had cd roms and was playing DoomII, i was going home to play frogger on my green screen and loved every f*&king minute of it! 😀 I will never forget that machine as long as I live. So many papers for school where typed on that and so many hours of my life were spent on the original version of AOL.

I'll have to say my Flat Panel iMac 15" 800MHz 1gig ram 60G HD 1xSD😛 Ordered with in 30min of announcement and still use it almost everyday. Love it 😀
 
I have not had the pleasure of owning many macs but I have used many different ones and out of all of them I think that my favorite is the cube! Second would be the pismo (anyone selling one?). My fav that I have owned has to be my PB in my sig, it is an awsome machine! 😀 (even if there are a couple things that should be improved)

He's not saying that the cube isn't a Mac, he's saying the Apple ][+ isn't a Mac.

If he was saying the Cube wasn't a Mac it would've read:

"I'll always love my Cube and I'll never sell it, even though it's not technically a Mac"

The position of the comma makes a world of difference,
 
My favorite all time Mac is the one i'm typing on now. My iBook G4 1.42GHz.

some huge old PowerBook (Kanga?) - LONG GONE!
some PowerMac (was in a white case) - long gone -- fried from a lightning storm 😱
PowerBook G3 233MHz - Screen broke
PowerBook G3 250MHz - Screen broke
iBook G3 300MHz - Still running great, battery broken
iMac G3 333MHz - CRT just broke
iMac G3 500MHz - running great 🙂
iBook G4 1.42GHz - broken screen 🙁
iBook G4 1.42GHz- FAVORITE COMPUTER OF ALL TIME! 😀
