SS with the blue magnetic strap. I like the idea of the black SS, but I'm not a fan of the link bracelet. Probably will get a black sports strap with my Watch, then a Milanese loop later on.

I'd like to see the actual post if you could link it, I must confess I can't actually remember saying that (not saying I didn't, just my memory's a bit duff...).

I think in 2013, I used my phone very differently (and, of course, my phone then was much smaller!). I didn't have incessant emails coming in every day, I didn't have non stop social media notifications, and I probably didn't see the use of the watch. I do now, and I'm happy to admit I changed my mind. Having said that, while I will probably buy one, I don't feel it will be as integral to my daily life as my iPhone and iPad have been. I hope to be proven wrong though.

No sweat! Just was curious. I'll find the link.

edit: here it is https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/16561335/

edit #2: upon further reading and comprehending, it sounds like you were intimating that you were going to get one, but not before you ate your clothes. So I am just even more confused lol

Ah, I see.

I think I was referring to how unlikely I thought it would be for Apple and Intel to collaborate on a wearable at the time, hence the 'I'll eat my hat' if it happens. But I still would've wanted one, hence the 'before going out and buying one' comment :p. Sorry if that was confusing.

I'd love to get the black stainless steel model but it only comes with the expensive bracelet. I think it would look great with the black sports band. Oh well. I'll be getting the regular stainless steel with black sports band model.

Anyone have an idea when pre-orders will begin? I hope it's not midnight Eastern. I can deal with waking up on the East coast at 3:00 AM if it goes on pre-order at midnight pacific time.

My gut says Sport but as time goes on it's more and more like I will get the SS.

Exactly the same for me. A month ago, I was certain I was doing silver aluminum with white band. Now I'm thinking silver SS with black band and I'll buy a link down the line; giving third parties time to make a cheaper one or for me to save up for the apple one if they are poor quality.

I am not buying one, but the one that caught my eye, and would be the one I would get would be a stainless steel version. Not sure on band.

If I were any of you though, it may be wise to wait a few weeks and see how some of these wear. You may see that the DLC coating scratches easily, or the Ion-X glass is rather resilient. Tough to make decisions before it is released.

Stop making sense! ;)

If money and concerns over my extremely tiny wrist size were no concern I'd get the 38 mm SS watch with the brown modern buckle.

My parents gave me $300 for Christmas that I have been saving for a fun purchase. I was not planning on getting an Apple Watch anyway, until the end of the year. But if I find I'm too excited to wait then the fact that I have only $300 in "mad money" leaves me with only the Sport models to choose from. I'd probably go with the white or blue band for it. I'd rather have a black band but it's not offered for a silver bodied aluminum watch.

I was torn between the SS and the Black SS (both with link) until I saw the prices. I had planned on getting a sport band as well as the link all along, so settled on getting a SS with black sport band at launch and will pick up the link bracelet later. If the black one was the same price and available with a sport band, I would get it instead, but it isn't worth the extra $100 and the limited band selection over the SS to me.

Good thing the bracelet will be compatible with future gen watches. I wouldn't imagine them changing the way the bracelets work for at least 5 generations.

space grey. the look isn't as important to me as the functionality, especially when it comes to a first generation product. I want to make sure it works exactly as they say it does or better before I spend anymore than what I need to.

Trying to find a reason to buy the AW. Love Apple products but don't have or want an iPhone so not much point.
Maybe sometime down the line Apple will bring out a watch that is useful standalone.
Currently the watch is just an expensive accessory to the iPhone.

Gut has gone back and forth.

Settled now on stainless steel with a large stone leather loop.

Thought about the space grey aluminum, which seems to be the most popular, but I want the more substantial model and can't see my way to the space black version. Too expensive.
