I just spoke to a specialist, they said that there was "high bag traffic" on the site which is why some pre-orders weren't showing, and the 'Get Ready' pre-order selection system was unavailable. Basically there are too many people checking things and making selections at the moment. He said wait until later today or tomorrow.

Just chatted to Apple support and, strangely, she said that they are doing things differently this year and, if you opted into monthly installments, you have already completed the order and that's why your pre-order shows an expired; in other words, nothing to be done now and should be getting an order number (an actual phone) within 24h, before pre-orders even go online

bit of a strange one, I've been told I don't need to go now and complete pre order tomorrow, because it has already been processed...

Yeah I had a feeling that’s what was going on. I wonder if this is like a reservation sort of thing, and they had a max limit on how much they were allowing, and once the reached that threshold they were shutting it down.

I would be amazed if that is the case, as there will be a high percentage of people who would have put through multiple orders just messing around with different configs and colours etc without actually intending to buy them, instead just have them ready for whichever they decided to go ahead with on the day

Mines down also.
It shows under “Devices Pre-ordered”. But when you click on it you get expired.

Tomorrow? Ahahahha tomorrow at 8 am we must be able to confirm….. what a mess

Well it makes you wonder if this is sort of a reservation system - where whatever you select is yours and it’s locked in. depending on capacity and stock, they probably had to shut it down at some point

If you see your preorder in your account, then it’s good to go. Apple support checked mine and said it’s ready to go, it’s just not showing up right now.

So i am currently on chat to apple support in regards to the same issue and the rep is telling me that the application has failed and to contact barclays and ask them to drop the finance. it seems no one really knows what is going on

Yeah, that rep is definitely clueless. At least they can pull up by your email and see that it’s saved to your account
