You could try to download an older version of flash that does not come with hardware acceleration.
Never tried that on OS X. Drawback would be that any security fixes would be missing as well.
I am at 10.1 r82.
What should I do?
10.1 is the hardware acceleration version that Timur mentioned.
If you are still crashing 2x a day, perhaps you can try to install this Safari plug-in and see if no panics? (I just did this too)
http://hoyois.github.com/clicktoplugin/clicktoflash/index.html
(Or go to Safari -> Safari Extensions Gallery then look for ClickToFlash and click the install link)
If this keeps you free from crashes... there is a good chance this riddle is solved.
If it doesn't ... we can start looking elsewhere.
Thank you. I installed it.
Btw, my kernel panics started around Aug 14 and the 10.1 Flash plugin was installed on Aug 11. So there is a good chance the two are related. Initially I thought it may have something to do with the external display which I purchased around that time.
Let's see if this works. I got a call from Apple Genius Bar this afternoon asking me to bring the computer in. I should perhaps hold off for a couple of days (or until/if I get a panic).
Do I need to deinstall the 10.1 Flash plug-in?
If yes, do I simply drag it to trash?
The problem is, my website is wholly Flash!
ruh-oh.
Perhaps you can find an older version of the plug-in and install that?
Like Timur mentioned though, then you will miss out on security updates as well.
I have it on word that another i7 mbp user does not get panics with 10.0 r45.
I would also try to use another browser to see if it happens then, too.

What is the long term solution? For Adobe to release 10.2?
Sounds exactly like my issues.
I had one person review the log and they stated it could be Flash initiating the problem when it accesses system resources.
Not sure if this is 100% correct about the flash, but I would still consider this a MBP issue as my iMac don't crash from Flash.
I just got back my MacBook Pro from Apple with the logic board replaced. Let's see if the kernel panics stop. Will report in a couple of days or when/if I get the first panic, whichever is earlier.
Happened to me too. Kernel panics, application crashes (mainly safari) and even video artifacting. I downgraded flash and everything stopped. Perfect after that.
Well, I had my first kernel panic this evening while browsing in Safari. My MacBook Pro now has a brand new logic board, and earlier the RAM, hard drives etc have been checked.
I have now installed Click2Flash. If the panics stop now, I can pin the blame on the latest Flash plugin.
I actually only use Firefox for web browsing and I have the kernel panic problem...being the thread starter and all![]()
What version of Flash do you have installed?
Macintosh HD->Library->internet plugins->flash player.plugin (Then right click, get info)
Have you tried installing a Flash Blocker plug in in FireFox?
