Saw one of these in the MBA forum. Why not have one here?

What's your setup consist of?

1. Which MacBook Pro do you have?

2. Is the Pro your main computer? Do you use it along with an external monitor, another computer(s), iPad?

3. Use a sleeve, skin, speck case? What kind of bag or backpack have you found suitable for the Pro's?

Photo's recommended!

Me personally:

1. Late 2008 2.4GHz 15" MBP, 4GB RAM and 500GB 5400rpm HD
2. Yes. Used alongside i3 iMac and iPad 1.
3. No!
:p

I'll play. :)

Currently my main machine is a 15" 2.2 i7 quad core MBP, with a 128gb SSD and 4gb RAM. In the mail are a full BodyGuardz clear protection, Optibay caddy, and 8gb RAM that will be installed along with my 750gb hard drive.

I bought the i7 to replace my Early 2009 Mac Pro 2.93 Octo core.

In the process of selling my 11" Air as I don't need it anymore. Also had a 16gb iPad 2 in white but sold it as I wasn't using it much.

Let's see, 2010 15 macbook pro 2.66 i7 with 27 ACD, magic trackpad. Just bought ipad 2 white so now I dont have to unhook my laptop everytime i wanna work from bedside.

2. I use it alongside my iPad 1 which is still going good :)

3. I use this awesome bag I found on Amazon can't remember what it's called. Bought it over a year ago.

MBP from sig, + 27" ACD, + BookArc, and a little BackPack round the back for my HDDs :)

Sold my gaming rig for the ACD, so i could use my MBP as a portable desktop.

Also, I'd usually have my iPhone docked at the side of the mbp.

2010 Macbook Pro 15" (see sig)

4GB RAM, soon to be 8GB

MiniDisplayPort to HDMI -> coupled with TV at times

Soon to get Crumpler laptop bag
---------------
Old laptop hooked into TV most of the time with external WD 500GB and 2TB drives: Media server

Soon to get Bluetooth mouse + keyboard to use it in lid-closed mode, hidden away to make it look like my tv is a mac

Airport express for airtunes usage from any device in the house

I'll take a pic and add it to this post when I have time

Where did you get your stand for your Macbook Pro ?

Link please :D ?

My personal computer is my new 13 inch MacBook Pro with the basic spec:

2.3GHz dual-core
Intel Core i5
4GB 1333MHz
320GB 5400-rpm1
Intel HD Graphics 3000

I also have a Western Digital My Passport Elite 500Gb for my Time Machine backups. A Belkin LapDesk with storage (quite nice, when done using the mac, I slip it inside the lapdesk and set it aside) as well as LogiTech wireless mouse for any games which I may have at a later date.

I do have an external 19 inch LCD monitor which I don't use as I like the Mac on my lapdesk as I watch t.v. I hope to get some sort of 'skin' protective application for it, maybe a vinyl wrap of sorts in the future.

Laptop specs in sig. In the middle of doing some scans so no pic. I'm also a slob, so no pic.

It's my main computer.

It usually drives a Dell 2408FW display and sometimes when I feel like it a 2nd 2408FW via one of the USB adapters that drive 1900x1200. I forget the name of it and it's not connected right now. Calibration is via Spyder Pro.

I use a WD mybook enclosure with FW800 that I cracked open a while ago and put a 1.5tb 7200 drive in for Time Machine backups.

Also attached is an Epson 3800 printer and Epson V750 Pro scanner. I like film.

I use a regular Apple wired keyboard and Magic Mouse. I also have an Apple wireless keyboard for when I'm playing a game on my pc on one monitor and have regular stuff going on with the laptop on the other.

Online storage of music and media library is via a 24 TB server down in the basement with the camel cricket.

I use a Tenba medium messenger bag that I modified to be a better commuter for single camera and laptop with various stuff. Connectivity is via Sprint MiFi. I've taken a 15" uMBP with me on the train to NYC every day since I got my first one 2 years ago. I find it to be very liberating having my main environment with me and not sitting on my floor at home.

When I'm home it lives on a Rain mStand, which I think is great.

Thank you,

John
