It's great isn't it?:D

Actually I found Hulu Plus sucks, mostly because of the content issues. You get less content on Plus than you do on the free ad-supported Flash stuff. :(

My go to apps are:

  • StreamtoMe (access my entire video library at home and away)
  • Slingbox (makes it my portable TV)
  • Netflix (and my portable movie theater)
  • Kindle
  • iBooks
  • Browser (just discovered Atomic and I love the tabbed browsing)
  • Skype (this turns my iPad into a video and voice phone thanks to the $30/yr plan)
  • GV Mobile+ (access all my text messaging at GVoice)
  • Evernote (my notetaking and writing app)
  • Nightstand (for turning it into a bedside clock radio)
  • Mail (I check it regularly)
  • Calendar (love the full month display and autosyncing with my Google account)
  • Contacts (again sync to Google is a must)

On my iPod Touch I tend to use Photobucket (autosyncing to my premium account), Nightstand and the music player more.

I also have eWallet which lets me sync my encrypted password data. It's an old program from my PocketPC days but has a desktop app I love and has been ported to iOS. Syncing is a PITA but I only need to update every month or so.

I have far more apps than I need, tons of them games for the kids, but those are the ones I use most often.

  • Mail.app > Daily use, using it with faculty exchange, private google apps (personal domain gmail) and mobile me (only used by apple to spam me)Flipboard > RSS reader from heaven
  • Zite > Newscovery, love this stuff, gives you news that you normally wouldn't find. If I like a source it ends up in flipboard.
  • Good Reader > Absolutely essential worktool. Sync with mobileme, use it to read and annotate articles, presentations and whatnot.
  • Friendly > Facebook app
  • Binck (iPhone, but soon iPad version) > e-broking tool I make most of my money with. Use it for daytrading and portfolio management mostly
  • App from my bank > use it to get insights into my bank statements and see transactions
  • Tilt to Live HD > This totally removes all stress, it's awesome.
  • IM Plus > Keeping in touch with my wife on the road.
  • Facetime > See IM Plus, but when I have WIFI available.

Talkatone - if you have a google voice account you can make free calls to anyone in the US. Bluetooth headset works like a charm on the ip2

lots of good apps that i've never heard of before.

my apps are

twitter
spotify
bbc iplayer
appadvice
read it later
stumble upon
train times
grindr xtra
sky news
the times and sunday times app
ibooks but i've found a useful app called kobo which has replaced my ibooks its a bit buggy but its updated quite regular.

Flipboard is the number one app I use. It has made browsing and reading just so much more enjoyable. I also love Garage Band I can play on it for hours easily.

It really puzzles me why anyone would not use Flipboard over say Twitter or some news reader. With Flipboard I can easily skim through the feeds, and even favorite tweets on Twitter for future reading if I don't have enough time to finish reading something. The iPad and Flipboard were made for each other. Arguably a better app than Safari (or any browser). If you want to do some research or work, you probably want to use a computer. But nothing beats Flipboard on the iPad, and in portrait mode. Trying doing that on a laptop!

Just a few that haven't been mentioned.

iCAB Mobile - Great browser, full screen, tabs, import/export favs, etc.
USA Today - I also use Zine, but I like the interface on this app...it's pretty slick and easy to use.
Friendly Facebook - Not bad, although seems to miss a few updates in the feed sometimes. Not sure why. Overall, great interface.
SmugMug- Some will say it's glitchy, and well it is on occasion, but overall great tool to view my pictures.
iSWIFTER - Great browser to watch flash. Free too I believe.

Pulse. Flipboard is nice because it now supports google reader but I still gravitate towards pulse.

Pulse
Swifter
Splashtop RDP
Nexflix
Mercury

Flipboard is the greatest app ever tbh.

Is there a way to add more than two pages of "sections"? Please tell me I'm just overlooking something obvious. I LOVE Flipboard but I feel very limited with only two pages worth of feeds.

In addition to the built-in email, contacts, calendar, Safari, iPod...

GoodReader
Todo by Appigo (a to-do list manager; syncs w/ iPhone version & toodledo.com)
Photogene (basic edits, rotation, filters, color adjustments, crops)
iTeleport (VNC client)
iWork suite
Noteshelf
Instapaper
Early Edition (an RSS reader)
SiriusXM
Atomic Browser (for when I need to change the browser identity to Firefox or IE)
iSwifter (access any flash website)
PCalc (an excellent calculator with library of constants, RPN support, etc.)

Awesome.

Many thanks to all in this thread. I have now added Zite, Flipboard, and Pulse to my iPad. All 3 apps seem like they do similar things so I may get rid of one of them at one point, but right now I will mess around with all 3 to see which one meets my needs the best.

Zite seems like the front runner right now. I'll have to give Flipboard more attention when I am back home and off of the company WiFi.

I've been going app crazy. My credit card is hurting :D :p

So far my favorites:

Flipboard (hands down THE iPad showcase)
LogMeIn Ignition (expensive but easily the best remote client)
MLB At Bat 2011
Friendly
VideoHunters (use this all the time, great app)
iCab Mobile (Love the Dropbox integration)
GoodReader
Pages,Keynote,Numbers
GarageBand (though I'm no musician)

I'm still disappointed overall in how few apps are iPad native.

yeah, it is but that coupled with the good reader app is a great combo! :)

Awesome.

i just dl zite and flipboard, and being a pulse user for quite sometime, i really like the flipboard's ui more than the pulse. i can see why flipboard is so popular. i might have to replace pulse...
