iTeleport and Pandora, for me. And Google Earth: pinching and tilting around 3D terrain is really cool.

(Although my iPad hasn’t arrived yet! But I’ve used them on iPhone and on other people’s iPads.)

You are probably not using it the for the way it was intended. Flipboard makes feed reading (whether they are from a blog, rss, twitter, Facebook, instagram, etc) much faster for several reasons. It simply loads a lot faster the more you use it because as it tries to learn what sources you tend to use more often and what articles you actually want to expand. Loading images and text is nearly instantaneous as you flip through, where a rss reader will typically load only when you tell it do. But even more importantly, flupboard improves the skimming experience tremendously by using great typography, images, and layout spacing. Skimming through a scroll of text is just much more difficult if at all possible.

Another important difference is Flipboard's great use of gestures. Tap an article to expand, flick up to see more, flick down to go back, two finger tap to close article, pinch to zoom in and out of videos. The UI is arguably better because, for example article boxes are designed to be very easily tapped and they make great use of iPad display everywhere. The combination use of gestures, subtle transition animations and smart loading makes reading not only faster but more of a pleasure.

Agree with all that. And don't forget Flipboard Pages that they use with a dozen or so of their partner sites to provide custom magazine like page layout. Uncrate for example, looks great in Flipboard

Wonderful app, best iOS app out there IMO

Evernote (premium allows in app storage without a connection)
Dropbox
iBooks (I use that for my work PDF library)
The Daily (I like its interface...)
Marvel Comics
Things
60 Minutes
USA Today
CNN

You guys think Dropbox is worth it compared to iDisk? I'm trying to decide as right now, I got mobileme and I paid another $40 for another year till late 2012... I looked at the prices for dropbox and it's $9.99 per month. Not sure if idisk is more financially ideal than dropbox?

Evernote
Things
Goodreader
iWork suite
Docs to go
LogMeIn
JotNot Pro (iPhone app)
iBooks
Kindle
Dragon dictation

Re: iDisc and Dropbox query above, I use both. On the Dropbox side, I don't exceed the 2gb storage limit on the free package. It's generally more reliable than iDisk. Tbh, the only reason I have iDisc is because it comes as part of the package deal for MobileMe (I keep paying because of email, contacts and calendar).

Dropbox--essential. Period.

iAWriter--positively the best tool for writing on the iPad. Love the arrow keys and the word-arrow keys. Well integrated with Dropbox.

Goodreader--excellent PDF reader and annotator with probably the best internal file system, my iPad file hub.

QuickOffice Mobile Connect--simple office suite that copes with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint quite well. Not as many formatting options as others but more reliable than DocstoGo and with much better file management and Dropbox support than Apple's own apps. Pretty good if simple presentation tools, too.

Zite--super free magazine-format app that "learns" what you're interested in. Brings me lots of relevant posts I would otherwise miss.

Flipboard--similar to Zite but gives you sites or feeds from sites that you choose. Complements Zite, doesn't replace it and isn't superseded by it either.

iCab--the best alternative browser with heaps of great features and download capabilities, good Dropbox integration.

DocPrinter--when I really need to.

Instapaper--not necessarily better than ReadItLater but supported by more apps.

Friended--so far my favorite Facebook app. Friendly gets good reviews but doesn't let me post links.

It's like Flipboard with videos....CHECK IT OUT :D
Been watching vies on it for an hour or so
Extremely good app that looks like it's just starting out so excited to see what the developers come up with in an update

And it's free

My must have apps:

Dropbox
Goodreader
Instapaper
QuickOffice
NoteTaker HD
Grindr

Honorable mention: OmniFocus (probably need the desktop client to maximize its usefulness)

My favourite apps are:

Dropbox
VLC
Engadget HD
Our Choice (like the way they've created a new reading experience)
Keynote
Garageband
FreezerView (makes it easy to find stuff in your freezer and warns you before food expires - should mention that I'm co-creator)

You have to purchase it every season, iPad version is $15.

I must be misunderstanding the MLB app. So, it's not actually video of the current game is it? I also thought I read there are additional charges throughout the season for using this app. I would be interested in knowing more about this app....big Giants fan here!

Not sure you all know this app, but it is a *must *for reading PDF books (it acts the same as iBooks for ePUB ebooks)
