Put my first gen watch back in the box. I’m not giving it to anyone for $25.

I traded mine in at the Apple store for a $225 credit
I was going to trade mine in online toward the Apple Watch 4 I already purchased. Sadly it just keeps erroring out so I gave up. I'll just toss it in the drawer in case I need it to test something later.

I put mine on eBay and no bidders. I had the original stainless steel.

Seems like with resale value being next to nothing it may be better to gift it to someone and introduce them to the ecosystem.

It’s surprising that unlike most Apple products which hold value decently well the watches turn fairly worthless very quickly.

I remember even a year and a half to two years ago the series 0 stainless could be had for $200 or less on eBay.... and that was a $599 watch just a year and some months before that time.

Unlike iPhones or MacBooks where you can mentally adjust the cost of a new one by selling the old one, I’m considering all money I pay into the Watch and bands to be “consumed” by the time I want to upgrade next.

I had a SS series 0, so not much I can do with it. Trading it in for $25 when I paid $700 (I think?) just seems like a waste.

I’m thinking of getting Series 4, but I have a nice Series 3 that wasn’t cheap. What are you all doing with your prior Apple Watches?
well as of yesterday I broke my screen so who knows. I have already replaced it once and I haven't even had it 6 months. Super upsetting. I guess I will pay the applecare deductible and then hold on to it for as long as I can since I will have ended up paying an additional $140 for it.

So true, I had my S3 SBSS on Swappa for 10 days and no takers. I tried OfferUp and the best offer I got was $280 and I still have almost a year of Apple Care remaining. I ended up giving it to my oldest daughter as I couldn’t justify the loss.

My aluminum S2 is already a bit scratched up from using it to track workouts while climbing, so now it can be my dedicated climbing watch and my S4 can avoid the abuse.

Keeping them for now. I have S2 in 42mm SS in SB and also silver which I used to rotate. I’ll keep one for sure, probably the SB.

I still have an S0 or S1 (don’t recall right now) in Aluminum Sport Gold. Don’t really need it. My daughter used it for a little while but not anymore. Haven’t worn it for a long time. Should do something about that.

I will give it to my brother. My partner doesn't want it and my brother will be able to pass his series 2 down to the one of his kids who doesn't have one yet.
