I use this.

Is there any way(s) of blocking/reducing the ads when watching YT via the Apple TV app?

(i.e. not using AirPlay, but the actual ATV YT app itself.)

They're getting so annoying now...
- mostly the same adverts over-and-over-and-over for weeks now.
- ads every few minutes, with/wo Skip button - making watching almost anything intolerable.

Yes but I forgot what it was called :( Let me find it in my 7000 bookmark or someone else may be able to tell you sooner!

luckily I use uYouPlus app basically no ads , skips intros or internal ads, allows me to input when a ad or intro starts for others to use It’s great and to whom ever I care for i just whitelist channels if they even have ads. If I find out they have ads but youtube doesn’t fund them I will just block ads

I think it’s a direct response to YouTubers who stretch out their content to get more ad revenue.

Too many videos are empty filler content just to get the viewing time over some increment of 5 minutes (eg 5, 10; 15 etc.) because those videos generate more revenue.
Yes and no. Thing is, this is a problem of Youtube's own making. They changed content length rules forcing content creators to then make videos of minimum lengths before they can monetize them (ads). Your take on this makes it sound like the content creators are being greedy and trying to get MORE ad dollars, when in fact they are trying to just get at least the minimum. Shorter videos = no ad revenue AT ALL today, compared to a couple years ago.

Youtube created the "problem", and now gives the means to viewers to skip content which will mean content creators again will get screwed out of ad revenue.

(By the way, we all know the most repeated parts are going to be "BEWBS!" ? )

Watching on safari with vinegar is even easier. You get a button to skip 15 seconds. You can keep pressing it to go the part you want.

We live in a world of shorter and shorter attention spans and a need for instant gratification it would seem.
Or a world where anyone can publish a video but not everyone can cut a video.

YouTube is getting so much worse these days. Here are my complaints:

1) I have to sit through 2 ads to be played before my video starts (in addition to having some ads in the middle of the video), and that's while using an Adblock.

2) I remember a tap in the past marked "Most Viewed Videos" where you can view the most watched videos (daily, weekly, etc.) and now they replaced it with a "channel" called "Popular on YouTube" where you get a section "Popular Right Now" which I am pretty sure it is paid by people to have their videos there, and other stupid sections like "Daily Aww" "Sports Highlights" "Today's Funniest Clips" "Hot New Trailers" which are all never been updated in 2 YEARS!

1. AdBlocker solves that issue, I haven't seen a YouTube add on either my Mac or PC in a looong time.

2. Don't get me started and Recommendations which for some reason likes to pull stuff from 2010.

1. I use AdBlock Plus on my PC, and it works most of the times. But not on my iPhone or iPad, which is where I mostly view YouTube (on the YouTube app, not browser)
2. I actually welcome their recommendations. They're not that bad :D

1. Yes, same thing here too.
2. Some of them not bad, other times... like what the heck, memory lane?
