Not sure if this is a Mojave or MacBook Pro issue, but can anyone else tell me if they are having a similar issue - or indeed shine a light on this for me?

So, in the video below, you will see the audio dropping out, the volume controls on the Touch Bar flashing off and on, and then a few seconds later the audio coming back in. This apparently happens at random, and the only place I have noticed it is on YouTube.

For info: running the latest PB of Mojave (18A336e) on a 2018 13" MacBook Pro (i5, 512GB, 16GB).

Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help in advance!

You're running beta software. It's not normal to experience this, but it is normal to get these kind of random issues when using a beta.

Try a different browser to eliminate Safari. After that you'll just have to sit and wait for the next public beta and hope they've fixed it.

I had similar issues, check my thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...litch-freeze-can-someone-please-test.2129323/

Do you have a stuttering/freezing mouse pointer as well while audio cuts out? I had to return mine :(

No, the system remains responsive...

Yes, I know I am running pre-release software and I know I should expect bugs. However, I cannot replicate the issue on a 2015 MBP running the same build of Mojave - so I am wondering if there might be some kind of hardware issue that is underlying. Safari 12.0 and Safari TP 12.0 both exhibit this problem...

I think I might have figured it out.

I am running a 2018 MBP with ‘hey siri’ capabilities. However, Siri is broken on this build of Mojave for some users - though it does hear the ‘hey siri’ command, and then *tries* to activate...

I think it might be ‘listening’ for a possible ‘hey siri’ command, and trying to start a broken script, resulting in a second or so interruption in sound - as it would drop the sound on a ‘hey siri’ command anyway.

I’m going to test this hypothesis when I get home from the gym.

I turned off 'listen for hey siri' and the issue has gone away for me... I think I might have been correct...

I am also experiencing YouTube audio issues. My video also seems to cut off shortly after the audio as well.
I am also experiencing the Hey Siri errors. In fact, I can't talk to Siri at all. Just an empty box appears.
I'm running the latest 10.14 beta (18A336e) on the 13" MacBook Pro 2.3 i5 16gb.

For me I had no other issue than a brief drop out in audio, no video or other system issues...

I have experienced this problem in 10.13.6 with chrome and youtube. However, the audio would not come back unless I close the tab and refresh youtube.

I think I may have found a temporary workaround, not to prevent this from happening, but to stop it from happening after it starts. Let me know if it works for anybody. I know some people are having slightly different issues than me so I'm not sure.

My workaround is posted on my thread here.
