This whole AI thing is getting out of control on all platforms of social media. Just scary how misinformation can be spread like wildfire. Just ridiculous.

Does this allow Hakeem Jeffries to allow Trump’s deepfake of him wearing a sombrero to be taken down? If there is an exception for one person and one person only, this policy is meaningless.

Ok. Can they do something about THIS nonsense next, please.
We tightly control access for our five year old, but she does have a Fire Kids tablet for road trips and games as a reward. Somehow THIS popped up despite being logged into her YT Kids account with restrictions applied, and it took an hour to calm her down and explain how AI isn’t real and those weren’t real puppies, and several discussions since about what was wrong with them being black. Fun times. We’ve been discussing ways to remove her access to YT without it feeling like a punishment because she did something wrong, because neither of us trust anything Google has to say given AI content was supposed to be blocked on Kids accounts.

Why is a 5 year old watching YouTube unattended? How do you make sure it's quality content and not just Teletubbies brain rot? And yes those videos are horrible, but the comments are even worse. 99% are bots!

YT kids doesn’t allow comments, and she wasn’t unattended, she was sitting next to my wife, who was having a conversation with another parent at the time.
She has an approved playlist mostly featuring things like Ms. Rachel and reruns of Sesame Street from the 80’s and 90’s so we aren’t sure how this mess was presented to her as we have taken many steps to prevent anything inappropriate. We’d thought those steps were working, but clearly they aren’t, which is why we are going to be removing her access to YouTube entirely and I’ll just be loading downloaded episodes to her Kindle from now on.

Yeah I want to hide all channels that use AI voiceovers. I just don't want to waste my time listening to a voice that is pretending to be real but isn't. That doesn't benefit me.

I only want to see content made by humans and I only want to hear actual people voicing videos.

The exceptions are of course when the AI is being used for obvious parody and for comedic effect.
I swear I am so tired of hearing "[blank] doesn't want you to know about [our product], but there is nothing they can do about it," along with another favorite "[Blank] just ended [other blank's] career." Just filtering those two would free up countless wasted electrons.

Ironically, using AI to filter out that stuff would probably be a great use case for it.

I empathize with your situation. You have obviously done your diligence or best, rather, in trying to protect the viewing experience.

BUT...
Parents need to realize the internet is the wild west and the existence of phones, apps, browsers etc is INSUFFICIENT to keep "bad posts" away from children.

Thus, I think giving a tablet to a five year old is so irresponsible.

We got our child a cell phone for Christmas....when he was 17.

Either way, parents who have a todder babysat/parented by a phone, or those who get disappointed teens that don't have a device like their friends, deal with the consequences.

To me, the inputs to a child's brain and corresponding outputs in behaviour etc for the rest of their life is worthy of utmost caution. Take them to the park already.

I agree. It would be really helpful for consumers to filter by unchecking (voiced by AI).

Another exception may be when AI is used to translate. I saw a video where the host was speaking (French?) I think but the AI voice came across English and the video was very well done, and accessible to me as it otherwise would have not been.
