Im paying for premium but because I'm not in the US I Can't get PIP on my iPhone. Yet other US iPhone owners who don't pay for YouTube premium will get PIP.

This has taken so long I'm slightly angry that they're finally doing it.
But we don't want to. We want to use the app.
If only YouTube would fix the absolutely stupid way that "go back" works in the iOS app.
When I had a galaxy phone, the feature worked fine when watching a video. You would leave the app and a small box continued the video. Now if you were listening to a song with a thumbnail on the screen, when you left YouTube, the music would stop,and no small box would be available. I wonder how it’ll be on iOS.
that's fine. It should be free but YOuTube should crack down on advertisements though. I pay for ad-free only to have every YouTuber over 5,000 subscribers push in product placement into their video. Product Placement should not be visible to premium subscribers and I should be able to report it.

I got dark mode Gmail incredibly late, but did so after following some arcane procedure of logging out/in blah blah. I could probably have had it many months earlier.
Had a quick go, logging out of YT, rebooting iPad, logging in, but no change.
Having said that, on the iPad I’d prefer split view anyway and likely wouldn’t use PiP much.

I'm from Brazil, and I paid for YouTube premium.
This should've been available to all premium users since the beginning.

Finally. youtube has had Picture in Picture ability on android for years… and ios and ipados also have had the ability for years to play video in pip. So finally!

I have premium and it doesn't work on my iPhone via the YouTube App. Never has.
I don't know how Google got away with the fact that they've been charging money for this built-in feature for all this time.

Built in feature? This only came to ios (pip) last year. Apple have no business regulating goggle for a feature they copied from android years later.
How is it that PIP needs any developer interaction anyway. Can’t Apple just force it so anyone using full screen player on iPhone automatically has PIP functionality. It seems as this should be embedded in ANY video or rather not a developer choice
How are people here confusing play audio while locked with picture in picture? They’re not the same thing.
It does not say that it is an exclusive, only that the launch will be U.S., others to follow shortly….
