It works for all user worldwide if you use Youtube in the browser on iOS (instead of the app).

Why use an app for Youtube anyway?

I read this as PiP will be to ALL Premium users everywhere, and that US only for non-Premium users.

I e-mailed Sami at Macrumors about this yesterday. It works in Poland as well ✌️

Just use YTPrivate.com so you don’t have to put up with ads nor any other limitation that youtube has.
it has all of YouTube’s videos without any of the annoyances.

It’s better in the Brave browser, which also automatically just added an Adblock to YouTube videos. No more waiting to skip ads. And PIP works fine.

How are people here confusing play audio while locked with picture in picture? They’re not the same thing.
I know exactly what PiP is and it is exactly what I meant to talk about.

YouTube is one of the apps, if not the only app, that has the feature implemented, but has to get in your wallet every month to activate that boolean variable.

It's as if I had an OpenStreet Maps app and I charged you a recurring fee to switch to Apple Maps instead, which is also free.

You think it's normal?

I'm still disappointed major streaming apps like Discovery+ and Paramount+ don't have PIP enabled yet,a basic feature unavailable is terrible.
You'll get Paramount+ PIP if you subscribe to Paramount+ channel on TV app.
