So, YouTube TV or Directv Now? I’m currently on directv now, using the beta which looks promising. What’s the verdict on YouTube TV?

Directvnow has more channels for basic package but nothing comes close to YouTube dvr function. If you dvr a lot, go with YouTube. Can't beat the unlimited dvr. I have the directvnow beta with dvr, but the beta app is still glitchy and dvr is OK. Nothing amazing.

What I *would* expect is live TV for less than $35 a month!
My Comcast cable package gives me all the local network stations for $18/month and Comcast isn't exactly known as the "king of values".

How much do you pay for equipment? taxes? Fees?

Download the Yahoo Sports app. You'll be able to stream the game on an iPhone.
Thanks.
No! Everyone can stream the Super Bowl using the NBC Sports app for free:

Thanks. I tried to go to NBC Sports page to look for the free streaming without cable subscription information, and was not able to dig it up. NBC should have put this information front and center.

I tried it. Got only sound. No picture. Except for the ads. Those play with picture and sound. Good job guys.

It's a DVR *in the cloud*, as with all of these services. Not a box.

Some of them include it, some of them treat it as an option, some of them treat a higher storage limit as an option.

Any concept of "storage limit" really has little meaning, since they aren't making a copy for you - they're just ticking a box (bit) telling them that they can't delete that show because at least one subscriber wanted it saved. As a practical matter, they need to keep almost everything for whatever period they are committing to saving your recordings for.

You can try any of these services for free for a short trial term. So, then, you WILL have a DirectTV Now (or Hulu TV, or Playstation Vue, or SlingTV, or....) DVR.

I have tried all of them and understand how they work. I'm just pointing out that until it's out of beta, DirecTV Now has no DVR.

They must have changed how that works too, because when I was testing the service I wasn't able to get into the beta.

There is still a lot of work that needs to be done to get it out of beta.

With Comcast's basic digital cable? I don't pay anything for the set top box because they're pushing the fancy, cloud-connected smart boxes these days. If you "settle" for one of the old boxes they've used for the last decade or so, they gladly lend it to you free. The entire TV package looks like they price it at around $45/month but hard to tell since they always bundle it with broadband Internet at claimed "discount" prices.
