I know inflation's bad but this is ridiculous

..my bad , misread it and thought it was for monthly premium 🤣

It is monthly. ???

Ditched YTTV last year. Wasn't worth it for what little I used it. Nowadays, if there's something I want to watch, I'll just buy the season pass on iTunes. Cheaper in the long run and I don't get ads or censors.

Where I live, cable TV PLUS high-speed internet is around $120-130 a month, not counting payTV services. We killed off the cable because we LOATHE commercials, and use that savings to swap around among the various streaming services. Bliss.

I appreciate that some people are infected with the sports virus, or want to record many episodes of shows they’ll never get to before they die, but you’re paying for high-speed internet AND another $73 (before taxes) per month for more sports, more ads, live channels and a DVR?

If you feel it’s a good value, then it’s a good value for you, I guess. Heck, if you can get the other five people on your account to kick in for it, then I totally get it. Over here, it’s just the two of us, so we’ll just be enjoying our four premium streamers that show stuff we like for about $350 per YEAR.

You say that you appreciate it, but you don't really seem to understand...

If you want to watch live sports, YoutubeTV is amazing (with the purchase of at least one extra sports package). Yes. People are willing to pay $$$ to watch live sports because a) watching live is basically 100% necessary and b) it is more difficult to pirate high quality live sports than it is to pirate high quality on demand content.

You don't find it to be good value. Other people do. You explaining why you do not find it to be good value does not change what people that like live sports will think.

(No offense, not trying to be rude, I just..... don't get comments like this I guess. Like you're not proposing an alternative, you don't use the product so you can't comment on its functionality or how the price change will affect you... just telling other people you don't use YoutubeTV?)

I just wish there were more streaming with no sports offering. Like Frndly where you can get a year for the price of one month of others.

I canceled mine. I like YouTube TV, but the price increase got me thinking about what I pay for as a whole. On top of YouTube TV, I was also paying for basic Hulu and Disney Plus, I think that was around $14 a month and then I was paying another $9 a month for another streaming service (FriendlyTV). I ended up giving Hulu Live a try, which includes Hulu and Disney Plus and the channel I had with the other streaming package. That's saving me $18 a month, factor in the $8 price increase with YTV and that would be $26 a month in savings. Same channels I watched before, so I am not missing anything as of yet.

Yea we get D+/H/E+ through VZW and pay for annual Frndly. Then we will sub a month to another if a new movie we want to see shows up. Not much more than renting and we can watch the rest of the content for that month.

That's what I'm saying, if you want live sports why not get NBA Pass, NFL Pass, NHL Pass, MLB Pass, all together are cheaper than any Legacy Cable/Internet Cable.

It's not YouTube.

It's YouTubeTV... which is their cable TV alternative. 100 live channels, DVR, etc.

And those types of services have always been expensive... and they're getting more expensive.
A close competitor would be Hulu with live TV. This costs $70/mo. It includes Disney+ and ESPN+ at no extra cost, but that just means there's no way to remove them to lower your bill :\ Also, that price is only for the ad-supported versions

Yeah, like Disney+ started out at $60 a year I think it was, and now it's $110.
I got in when it was $8/mo, or $80/yr, and there was only ad-free. Those who got in on some "founders deal", paid something like $150 for 3 (three) years! :O

Now, $8/mo only gets you as far as ad-supported, and there's no option to do annual here for the 2-month savings!

Well…. Not porn anyway.
I'm sure many of us (who watch porn ofc.) are in this boat. But I've been hearing more and more people have considered or are paying for it! Part of it isn't unlike streaming services (where a good deal of some of the content can still be had for free). Another part is the better content, higher quality, more assurances that you won't be tracked, etc. It's good to have choices :|

Still cheaper than cable, people saying it isn't are delusional. Cable is 2x as much when you factor in the cable boxes and fees they add on.
Exactly! I just talked with a friend today who still refuses to ditch Comcast. He told me the "fees" (which I also had before I ditched them) now total over $60! I've offered to split YTTV with him but he refuses to do it lol
