The YouTube app was updated yesterday and now, since the update it seems more then half the videos I've tried are unavailable and a "This video is unavailable on this platform" error message appears. It occurs with both iPhone I tested (5s and 4s).
Has anyone else the this issue?

I've seen this on both iOS and Android. NOt sure why it happens, but assume it has something to do with being a mobile device.

YouTube - Video unavailable on this Platform

I understand you are saying there is an option for YouTube uploads to block mobile apps from viewing their content.

But is there also an option for them to block mobile web BROWSERS? With emphasis on it being a separate option.

I've looked, but haven't found it. Do you need to have some sort of minimal amount of activity before having access to these options?

Most mobile web browsers don't use Adobe Flash, anymore. They will use HTML 5 with either MPEG4 or WebM video. If the person uploading doesn't make the video available for mobile. It doesn't matter much which you use and those videos may still be blocked from desktop users who choose the HTML 5 version of YouTube.

Any updates around this? I uploaded a video that has a known song in it, and whenI send my video to friends, they can't view it on their mobile device, but a pc will let you view it. So dumb! Why does a pc let you, and a mobile device won't? Thsi is driving me nuts? Any tricks around this?

There u sed to be where you could go into the copyright settings and acknowledge it was copyrighted and then it would work. Now there are these greyed out settings for monetization? There has to be a trick?

Change your settings for what you uploaded to allow mobile viewing.
