these days people tend to forget just how much of a breakthrough the original iphone was.
i just tell them to re-watch the original iphone presentation and pay attention to all of the things that get a reaction from the audience.
To be fair, that audience at that time would roar and clap if steve farted!!!!!

to an extent, sure, but he was in-fact introducing ground-breaking features.
No 3g? No video, no copy paste? Yep, magical, pinch to zoom which wasn't an apple invention was pretty cool, but that was about it. Web browsing, mp3, camera, all standard at that stage.. so cool as a package, but very little ground breaking features....

what smartphones had 3g and video in 2007?! what smarphones had full web browsing?? the whole point was that it was a package. all standard at that stage, but not in a phone.

i might not be enough of a tech geek to know what all features of all smartphones preceding the iphone had, but somehow, living in nyc, other than blackberry phones, i can recall one or 2 other smartphones which were incredibly limited and had styluses.

but sure, i'm wrong, you're right - the iphone wasn't revolutionary. in fact it's not even that popular.

Great back tracking fella, no ones saying the package wasn't cool, it was. But if you are gonna go on record and talk.about ground breaking features, all we are asking is that you name a few.

Oh by the way. Motorola, htc, samsung , Nokia, were all pioneers in the early to mid 2000s in phone tech.

It's the royal "we" fella.. it's cool, you dont know of a single ground breaking feature introduced, that's fine.. you are not alone, there's a huge amount of ppl who think the iphone and the iphone alone firstly was the first to do everything, and secondly is the only phone capable of doing such magical feats. Mad I know.. but true.... not long ago, a colleague, a grown adult commented that she loves her iphone cos she can go on ebay!!!! And she was genuinely shocked when I told her everything phone can access.ebay!!!

enlighten me, which smartphone(s) had a full version of google maps? and i'm sorry for your grown colleague, but let's not generalize.

this from the guy who wanted specifics. you're sad. good day.
And you sir are rude. Google maps on a pre 3g phone is useless, you couldnt down load maps for off line usage back then and network speeds on 2g were zilch. So GM wasn't a ground breaking feature. On wifi in the home was good, but that's not really the point of mapping software is it...
So.im not really sure why I'm sad? I dont feel sad, I'm quite content at the minute... it's all good tho, youve spouted rubbish on the web, been called out, have no legitimate response so start name calling.. good.on you sir..

i did have a legitimate response, but instead of admitting that it was a revolutionary thing you chose to sh*t on it - very mature. and btw i used maps on 2g when the first iphone came out, and yes, it wasn't fast, but it was still useful. maybe not to you, but that becomes subjective. the fact that the iphone was the first smartphone to feature that is objective and a fact(unless you know of a model that had it before, but seeing how you didn't mention it - you probably don't).

i'm usually not a fan of articles such as this, as you may be lucky enough to have half of the facts be true, but even if only 5 out of 10 are factual that still ads a lot to the argument. i'm sure you can argue with all of them, as you seem to know a lot. or just sh*t on them :)

and "sad" was not a name, just a reflection on your q&a manners.

no need for the original sim. If it was sim locked to the original operator just get it unlocked from them. If you haven’t used it for a while you may have to get a sim from their network and use it.
I bought mine unlocked and it works still fine with any sim from any network.

Will look into it. I have Verizon now with nano SIM. So gotta make sure that AT&T phone is unlocked and use an SIM adapter to make new SIM old size.
