The Ultra was obviously traumatized. Instead of going for the kill. He should have waited a couple hours or days to see if the display started working again.
Yeah, good point. The other weird thing I noticed is that he mentioned "falling on rocks" right before putting it in a jar of nails. But those nails are much softer than granite, for example... (sapphire is harder, of course)There's a constant misunderstanding about Saphire Crystal glass that it's indestructible but it's simply false. Sapphire Crystal is one of the hardest materials only beaten by diamond and a few synthetic materials which makes it practically scratch proof but it's not particularly stronger than normal glass and will still shatter when bashed so hitting the Apple Watch ultra with a hammer is a very stupid test of the glass given its properties.
This is the whole reason I just upgraded to the Ultra. My Series 5 got about half the battery life it got new so I used it as an excuse to upgrade. I probably would have held on for another year if not for the battery.Ironically, its battery degradation will start killing it from the inside in about 3 years.
Right you are. There's a good chance that's why the watch survived so many hammer blows. The soft surface that he had it on was absorbing much of the impact. Just another fool shilling for Apple.Ah come on. That's not a table! It's a piece of sheet rock/drywall! Of course it's going to break! You can dent it with your fingers!!
Even better. A video comparing the relative durability of these YouTube video creators vs a hammer…. LOL J/KThey would get more clicks and create a more realistic test if the watch was on a human arm during the assault.
You must have watched a different video...?If you slow it down the first hit completely missed, looks like he was trying to get his thumb out from the hammer and pulled the strap and watch away (the table breaks at this point, no doubt some cheap melamine or particle board junk from the looks of it). The 2nd hit caught the lower right corner, which is a positive for the raised lip, but calls into question if the screen was actually hit. The third hit is square onto the screen and it shatters.
It still looks like a great and tough watch, but to me it shattered on the "first" hammer blow (yayy for MR journalistic integrity!). Obviously no one is going to be swinging hammers at this. If I had more money than sense I'd do the same to my Rolex Submariner just out of curiosity, I've abused that watch for 15 years with plenty of construction and super hard hits to the sapphire and it doesn't have even the faintest hint of a scratch.
So you'll film hitting it with a hammer on top of concrete for us? Please. We'd like to know. 😊Even though he's hammering the watch on a piece of sheetrock, I'm suprised it didnt crack sooner. Call these tests senseless if you like but if I'm shelling out for one of these watches, I'd like to know how tough they really are.
He can probably spell and type though...?Stupid video… like it shows everything that is wrond with the wirld today… some idiot smashing watches with hammer and making money of it… with groundbreaking revelation - hammer can destroy watches
Do these characters who destroy the products get enough views that it pays for them to do their unscientific tests?
800,000 views as of this writing, so yes. Definitely. Probably makes enough to break it, then go and buy new ones and an iphone and a macbook proDo these characters who destroy the products get enough views that it pays for them to do their unscientific tests?
Ahhh, Apple Watch Ultra smoke… Don't breathe this!But.......Will it blend?
Yes lets try oak so the table isn't taking the bruntcan you please try this on a wooden table instead of one made from a glued sawdust?
I don't know how long it is, but the pointless ones to me are the ones that are obviously stalling to get ad money. The ones you go in the comments to find the real MVP who comments "Skip to 5:16"I think you missed the point. He said they were pointless but the point he was making is that he enjoys them and watches them every time regardless of whether they’re pointless or not. Wake up buddy
It was not made of sawdust either, it's not even a table, it's a plaster board ffs, lmao. Nothing impressive about that breaking, in fact the plaster absorbed a lot of force, that's why watch didn't breakYes lets try oak so the table isn't taking the brunt
