Boggles the mind.

I believe it's the "I want to live longer in Life" mindset (which, unfortunately, becomes increasingly more of a semi-obsessive, daily thought-process for those of use who are approaching the horizon of where our progenitors previous found completion).

Very grateful to not require any medications in my daily life. My genes have expressed rather bad, progressively-worse dental attributes over the years (and my eyes have just plain gone Rogue); but, thankfully, there ain't nothin' wrong with all the rest :)

In today's Commercial environment, morbidity == mortality. Marketers have glomed-on to tickling the impending fears of those who have passed the Middle, and are facing the End. Fear is a lucrative business for certain segments of our Society.

Just need audio skip or reduction modes like a few TVs had years back and i would be fine.
Wearing out the mute button on the remote :)
Liberty,Liberty,Liberty,Liberty,Liberty, Liberty, wore my ears out. lol
They should be broke spending all that money on ads. lol

I wish everyone would pay more attention to this, especially with local businesses on the local TV stations; the more they spend on local TV ads, over and over, sometimes 2 or 3 times in EVERY commercial break, the more fees they're tacking onto your toilet repair bill. I avoid those companies like the plague.
And, back when we still had phone books/Yellow Pages, I usually started at the end of the service section (like, "Plumbing") and would call Zack's Plumbing Service way before I'd even consider "AAA Prime Plumbing, GiveUsYerMoney!"

Does it seem like, to anyone else, that YT has backed off on their draconian ad placements recently? I've never had the issue about videos playing slow, but did have a similar "block" where the videos weren't shown in English. Many of the channels I follow, that didn't have ads at all, and then suddenly did, now don't anymore again. And I usually get just one, skippable ad at the front.
There for awhile they'd start stuffing another ad indiscriminately into a video at 2 minutes in, and I got into the habit of just quitting YT immediately when that happened. Maybe enough of us did that they decided to lighten up a bit? Anyone else seeing this?

Some of the channels I watch have the guy or girl talk about 'todays sponsor' in the video, that you can skip if you are watching, but when you are listening it is crap with crap on top. En mostly they also have google adds on 'ON' so you get the google crap on top of that.

Given that most of the creators I follow are doing this, even paying for add free google stays crap.

I hope some day in the near future people wake up and start making content for a hobby again instead of making ' a career' out of it.

Being a YouTuber isn't a job. It is lazy and be it left or right around it your a screwing your followers or better said customers.

The only people I am willing to pay for there content are journalist that have a decent podcast from at least an hour or daily 15 minutes or something. Given that the mainstream news in The Netherlands are biased as **** and only actor to left leaning Pro Palestinian UN and EU supporting opinion makers, that blame everything on far more even extreme rightwing blablablabla and are woke as **** and support the whole victim vs oppressor narrative (instead of neutral news channels that they used to be).

That's one heck of a hot take. In my own previous post in this thread, I was certainly highly critical of YouTube -- but just to be completely clear, those criticisms are not something that I would extend to the content creators, as readily as you appear to.

I have a great deal of respect for the lengths to which some content creators go to in order to provide content for their viewers to consume. Folks like Arun Maini, Luke Miani (no typo and no relation) and Ryan Trahan put their entire life into their content, just to name a few, and -- as far as I can tell -- they make a pretty good living. And those aren't even the most popular YouTubers... they're just a few that I happen to find interesting. There are others, like the ever popular Jimmy Donaldson, who have literally built an empire on their content. I would under no circumstances consider any of these creators to be "lazy"; they work their butts off.

As with all walks of life, there are of course quite a few less prolific and/or less impressive creators who could be the source of some of your criticism, but that doesn't make it reasonable to generalize that to all YouTubers.

Ok ok (offcourse I also have a opinion about people who act like you), I should have added ‘in general’ to that sentence.
