This! Lite or Premium aren’t worth if I get AI generated videos in between the videos from actual human creators I’ve been following for over a decade now. The day they are able to filter AI crap out of their platform, I might reconsider not using alternate browsers, extensions and other infrastructure devices and systems to cut their crap out. Sure, content creators will get hurt, but I already support them outside the YT scummy platform with more than what their ad revenue would ever pay them back.Since YouTube insists on pushing AI Slop and content farm videos with their "algorithm" I will continue to get my YT Premium via an ad-blocking browser. I also use "JDownloader" for directly downloading YT videos and, interestingly, there's a bit of an arms race between the devs and YT where it'll go days without working until an update. FWIW, I wouldn't run JD on anything with critical or sensitive data - it's the kind of sketchy software that, prior to the 2000's, we often called "warez" (a portmanteau of "wares" and Juarez, Mexico).
‘Remove YouTube Shorts’ extension/content filter should do the trickI would pay extra to disable shorts. Their existence makes YouTube insufferable.
Those only work in safari not the actual YouTube app‘Remove YouTube Shorts’ extension/content filter should do the trick
I agree. I foolishly waited for years to subscribe to Premium. It’s the only video subscription I have. I will never not pay for it. It makes a world of difference.Probably the only subscription where I feel I'm getting the most value for my money is YouTube Premium. Nothing comes even close. I just hope we're not in the honeymoon phase and then they go for the kill like most subscription services do.
Imagine paying for YouTube and still watching ads lol
YouTube is never getting my money or any ad-revenue from me. I want to give them as little engagement as I can. I honestly wasn't all that bothered with the ads until they kept finding ways to disable PiP on iOS, even while using Safari. Beyond ridiculous that they try to block an open web standard behind a paywall. At this point, I save all the videos I want to watch to a playlist at the end of the day and use yt-dlp to download them. Then I throw them on Plex for free offline and background play. Of course, I have uBlock Origin and an extension to hide those stupid shorts while I'm adding videos.Alternatively uBlock Origin or any of the other ad blockers exist. You don’t get downloads or background play without a different extension or jumping through a few hoops, but the most annoying part which is the ad interruptions is immediately and freely gone.
Its $7.99, but I'm sure if it was 5.00 you ask for 3.00, if you think 7.99 is too much then don't complain, just get something else, Now i don't really see the value in YT in general, so i don't pay for it, but i also don't go whining about price.Give me a plan around $5 a month and I’m in. Hard pass otherwise
I broke down and got the $2.99 no Ads plan. Other then freevue marked content almost everything is ad free. Worth it to me in time not watching same commercials over and over.I pay for Amazon Prime and still get interrupted by ads.
YouTube movie and documentaries selection is quickly rivaling some other streaming services. People watch YT on computers? Sure I watch on my big screen TV. If I’m fixing something and need a DIY video my phone then. You sound “aging” maybe not in years 😳It is striking to me that people are paying money to be in front of their computers more often.
That is antithetical to how I want to use my time, but perhaps that’s an aging thing. In any event, when I do watch YouTube I find that the free experience allows me to watch whatever I need.
A VPN is much cheaper.YT Premium is probably the most bang for the buck in my entire subscription life.
No ADs on YT and YT Music combo is exceptional value that I use the HECK out of.
