So Far So Good with the 3rd Sparq

Well, new replacement came today much faster than expected .. plugged it in and lo and behold everything is charging ... I'll report back if anything starts to go south. Fingers crossed! :)

I am watching my replacement Zaggsparq closely for how long its shelf life is for holding a full charge. It would be pointless to have this device as a backup if doesn't hold a charge very long, especially since it takes 9 hours to charge it up.

Could you imagine, 9 hours to charge it up to 4 lights, then put it in your car. A day later without using it, its down to 3 lights, another day down to 2 lights and so on. A week later you need it to charge your iPhone and the Zaggsparq is dead. I would be so freaking pissed!

Zagg was kind enough to send me a Zaggsparq for my review blog, and it arrived today. I have it charging for the first initial 9 hour charge now. It has two more hours left before I try it out with different devices to see how it works. I'll post my thoughts on this soon.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; sv-se) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

Got mine monday. Charged for aprox 10 hours, plugged in my iPhone nothing, plugged in another device nothing, plugged in every device I own, none of them would charge using the Zaggsparq. I live in Sweden so I suppose a replacement case will take a few weeks.

Does the LEDs still light up if there's any charge?

I had that same problem, except it happened on the 2nd charge. Nothing actually charged until I used a USB powered fan. It had a weak sound to it compared to a full powered USB. Then the fan to run until it drain out the ZAGGsparq (2-3 days). I recharge it and seemed to work for me. Maybe you have some novelty USB item that would help drain it out.

I've had the Zaggsparq for just about 3 weeks and it's already dead! Three charge/discharge/recharge cycles and nothing but amber LEDs!

I'm getting a refund less shipping:
>>Thank you for contacting ZAGG, where we are Zealous About Great Gadgets! <<

More like Zero-quality Always Gonna Getcha...

Why is it that every non-Apple iPhone accessory has the approximate MTBF of toilet paper?

Seriously.

Dissapointed.

Only sign of life I'm getting is the leds when i push the button.
And since I have to pay for return shipping from Sweden myself I probably wont bother. I thought buying such a premium priced batterypack would guarantee a premium product and customer support. Ah well I'm not going to buy anything else from Zagg anymore.
Now off to write about my experiences on twitter and facebook.

Another interesting feature of my Zagg Sparq is that it actually drained my Nexus One -- twice. It's as if the Nexus battery was being used by the Zagg to replenish itself overnight.

Seriously?!!! Thats insane.
I wouldnt mind the pricepoint if it delivered what Zagg promises.

Lets make sure everyone here having a Zaggsparq problem contacts Zagg to express your displeasure.

So far, I have not had any issues like these with the unit they sent me. I've been using it to charge my iPhone, just to keep using the ZaggSPARQ. I will need to recharge the Zagg soon, and I'll see if it dies on the second charge like some of you. So far, so good.

Well I did get a replacement.

I charged it up for 24 hours. 4 leds lit.

I then did nothing with it...3 days later 3 leds lit.

I have requested and RMA and I am sending back both units.

Going to try another brand....

I have decided to order another battery pack of a different brand.
I'm leaning towards the eneloop or some Richard solo product.

I have been using the IMP500 and so far its worked well...

My only real gripe is a short warranty of 6 months. They claim its a high quality battery but then only offer a 6 month warranty. The owner indicated it was the high cost of importing and returing bad batteries to China.

To me that really says he has no confidence in them after 6 months. So draw your own conclusions.

So now Zagg is telling me I have return my Zaggsparq first before they will sent me another replacement. WTF! The first time this happened they sent me the replacement first and then I sent them the defective one.

Initially I purchased two Zaggsparq's and only one of then had issues. Now the other one went from 4 LED's to 3 LED's in only a day, with non use.

I sure hope ZAGG is reading this forum.

I requested a refund yesterday. The web site say's to expect some delay. If I don't hear from Zagg by Friday I'll have my credit card deal with it.

Total disappointment with Zagg.

This product charged my phone 4 times then nothing

I used this product 4 times worked fine, then it charges but wont charge the iphone. I requested a replacement what I am annoyed with is, I paid 70.00 for the item, which was reasonable, then I have to pay another 25.00 to return it to the usa, I am in australia, its now a very dear product and I am far from impressed

I bought this device and it physically broke when i attempted to charge it. The prongs must have locked internally and snapped. I would not recommend this product to anyone at this point. ZAGG needs to address this issue in the next generation build.

I cannot attest to the ability of this device to hold a charge. The other posts don't give me too much hope.

Also: The flip-out prongs are longer than the recessed slots they're supposed to fit in. If you've used the iPod and Mac chargers, you've seen this flip-out style. Apple does it correctly and the prongs rest below the surface. ZAGG seems to have a lower quality build threshold and the prongs protrude.

4-5 months into using IMP500, using it religiously everyday. Never gave me any problems. Delivered what it promised.

I just received an email from Zagg and was told my replacement won't be available until sometime in February because they have redesigned the Zaggsparq. I bet they had a high failure rate with this current version because it is to soon for a radical design change. The new one will be called the Zaggsparq2, which makes me wonder if the appearance of it will also change.

Im so mad!

Zagg knows their sparq is a sub par product obviously. But stil no goodwill from them towards us screwed customers.

It needs to get smaller, and have a power switch.

I doubt the sparq won a real design award...probably a paid for award.
