Majora's as more Linear than Ocarina of Time? I think Majora's had elements that made the original Legend of Zelda so enjoyable (with less ********). It encouraged and rewarded exploration and while the game was so big, it wasn't so big you'd never find anything cool. Eventually you'd stumble onto the farm to find Epona, the game never directly tells you to check it out. The 3 day system is anything BUT linear.

Yes, more linear. When speaking of linear one assumes the main storyline. OoT had a small amount of non-linearity on the dungeon order & the grottoes were pretty well hidden. MM is just a great side quest bonanza.

I can't decide if I like it better than MM (which is huuuge for me, since Majora's Mask is my favorite game, ever), but it is very good. The story line is fantastic, I love the visuals, the characters are hilarious. It's like Shiggy finally listened to all those prayers and curses I've been hurling at him since.... Windwaker.

I didn't buy Wii Twilight Princess (one day I'll buy a wii and play it) but I had bought this collector's edition thing which had a small replica shield and the soundtrack for that game. I really enjoyed the soundtrack.

I just want to get this 25th anniversary disc you showed the pic of. Pref as a CD, I'm sure it would sound nicer in my car than the best audio rip to listen to through my iPod. Or, if it exists, a DVD Audio disc

The skyward sword is awesome. Still working on it (got the game recently). A link to the past remains #1 on my list though.

I liked it a lot, definitely better than TP. Not better than the remaining 3D Zeldas though.

Loved the graphics and the story.

Hated the controls which needed calibration again and again, and wasnt very precise - Yes, you will end up wigging the wiimote back and forth as in TP. Hated the item selection interface, it wasnt intuitive as it shifted between the A and B buttons, and pointing the wiimotes just isnt precise enough.
The air world is incredibly empty and boring 1/3 into the game, which is a pity, because I really liked the surface world.

Would still recommend it though, just for the visuals, story and gameplay. But oh how I wish they let games be played fully with the pro controller for WiiU...

I am enjoying Skyward Sword. It is definately more streamlined than the others. It is interesting that the overworld locations are more puzzle like wheras in TP there were huge emtpy areas. TP is the only Zelda game I did not compeltely replay but perhaps I am getting old now.

I agree that the controls are frustrating at times, especially the forward thrust (giggety). I have been killed by Armos statues more times than in any other Zelda game but for the most part I think the controls are fun to use.

I hope the next Zelda game is more like Majoras Mask. I feel that exploration is the best way to tell a story. I think I enjoyed Majoras Mask more so than Orcarina.

My favourite Zelda game of all time is Zelda 3 - A Link to the Past on SNES. Way back :D
Wind Waker on the Cube is a very close second, I liked this one very much.

For some reason, although I found them to be really good games, I never really cared for Ocarina, Majora or Twilight. But Skyward could rekindle the old flame...

10/10 game? No way, 7/10 maybe, but as it's Zelda it magically gets a free pass from everybody else. We get huge amounts of complaints about linearity in the industry, but that gets conveniently ignored on one of the most linear games out there.

Or maybe your opinion simply isn't shared by many. I for one disagree with all your criticism of the game.

While I do think both TP and SS had some short commings, I still consider the actual gameplay of Zelda games to be some of the best on the market.

I would very much love to see some revolutionary changes in the future games, to deviate from the "Zelda is captured, beat these 5 dungeons and kill Ganon", but other than that I would never think twice about spending money on a Zelda game.
