His page is entertaining and even informative to a large degree.
Dear old Ken's reviews and accompanying photos, particularly of lenses, are often very useful if you're prepared to ignore the conclusions he draws.

My main issue with him is that I've never seen a single photo he's taken that is anything less than horrible. He seems obsessed with turning that poor child of his orange.

Thanks guys.. I appreciate your help! I just figured that when on AUTO mode the camera would of picked the PERFECT settings.. Ill try playing around with the iso a bit... If it was bright and sunny would the AUTO setting be a bit better when the camera chooses ISO 6400 ?

Lots of good advice above. I will just re-emphasize... you need to learn more about the exposure triangle. And.... the effect it has on your photos when you push the boundaries.

You say above that you expected AUTO to give you the perfect shot. What you will learn is that in 90% of the cases you are trying to take a photograph in less than perfect conditions. All AUTO can do is to pick the best settings, under the circumstances. Most photographs are a compromise - you very rarely get 'perfect' settings... you simply get 'good enough' for your purposes. In your example shot you mentioned low light... that is a challenge. You also had the zoom lenses extended. That is another challenge. So camera had to compensate by boosting the ISO.

The one piece of less-than-great advice is about 'fixing' grain afterwards. You can't 'fix' a grainy shot - all you can do is smooth it out so it doesn't appear so grainy. But it won't look as good as initially shooting the photograph with a setting that produces little or no grain in the first place.

Go and learn some more stuff. Join a camera club... you can great hands on advice and meet cool people.
