But you do own 10 songs a month. The rest are rentals but in essence you are paying $5 a month rent. And unlike Apple the songs are DRM free. :)

ever heard of iTunes PLUS? thats DRM free music. And its much higher quality than anything coming out of zune store. Apple is trying to get all of their collection to be iTunes PLUS but can only do so if the artists give them permission. I find it hard to believe that EVERY song on zune store is DRM free (not saying its not true, i havn't done any research about that at all)

and, if you were wondering, iTunes PLUS songs dont cost even a cent more than a regular song

Not the artists, the Record companies. You think the artists have much control over their own music?

lol all the apple fanboys coming out of the woodwork to attack microsoft!

Yes, I notice this as well. And I'm willing to bet that everyone who is bashing the Zune has not even used it before. I have never use the Zune before, therefore I really have no opinion about it.

Anyways, I see this as fantastic news. The more competition the iPhone has, the better it will become. It actually looks like a decent phone on the surface. Call it an iPhone rip-off, whatever. I do wonder if it's going to run Win Mo on it? If it does, then this makes it no different than the other thousands of phone running Win Mo. In fact, manufacturers like HTC, who have been in the biz for years, would likely make a much better phone than Microsoft can. Something is going to have to distinguish this phone from other Win Mo phones - it could be like a Win Mo Zune version.

UI upgrade

I have windows mobile on my iPaq, and I think it's great. I use the iPhone because, at the time, it was the only device with the features it has. But Microsoft may be positioning themselves to phase out windows mobile. Since apple never released a stylus friendly device, microsoft is still going to support windows mobile. This ZunePhone may just be an alternative to the google android. They may only be writing the software and not actually building the phones.

it'd be sooo interesting if the zunephone goes with ATT! xD

i'd probably get it, if its cheaper that is. its always nice to be the odd one out and this should get apples feathers ruffled so that they'll start bringing out their awesome ideas they are keeping locked up right now!

The ZunePhone may not even be powered by Win-Mo.
It depends on whether Micro$oft wants a full-on smartphone, in which case, Win-Mo it'll be, or whether they want an ultra consumer device.
Personally, I think it's the latter. Why would they buy out the makers of the Sidekick?

Just browsed that section. About a whole 105 albums. LOL. Yes the MP3 format is not as good, or so people say I have damaged hearing and cannot really tell the difference.

1500 songs versus millions of songs on the Zune and Amazon that are DRM free. iTunes plus is not much to crow about at this point in time.
