Washington Square in Tigard, Oregon had about 20 - 30 this morning. Mostly Verizon with a few wifi (no AT&T). I wanted the 64GB black but settled for the 32GB black when the guy in front of me bought the last 64GB they had.
Was wondering about Washington Square, how long was the line?
I got there at 8am and the line was already over 20 people. By the time I got into the store there must have been about 70 people. I got the next to last unit they had, the person behind me got the last.

And that is exactly what I experienced when I went there yesterday and seeing the massive crowd sitting and waiting for the iPad delivery, I knew there is no chance of getting one at the 5th Ave. Store.
I wonder if going to the store on 14th Street is more civilized and one has a better chance of getting one tomorrow.

I have a number of asian friends so I have nothing against them or any other ethic group. However I've noticed a lot of asian people in the lines I've been in so far. In the line I was in this morning, there were 15 asian people in front of me (out of 20) and I noticed one elderly man taking large wads of cash out of an envelope and handing the money to individuals and clearly giving them some sort of instruction. It's very unusual to say the least.
If you really want an iPad, go to the biggest Apple Store in your area no later than 7AM to wait in line for a ticket. To each his own but try not to settle on something you don't want just because it is there today.
if you're in NYC, be prepared to go at 6am if you want any remote chance of getting the model you want... any later and you'll likely be stuck with verizon model or empty handed.
the people from chinatown get there around 5am to 6am and they come in numbers.
When I went on Monday I got there around 8:30 and was about 20th in line. Surprising. Its like people don't know that Apple store exists.

Well not everyone who wants an iPad reads rumor sites and assumes stores are opening early.
Does anyone know if the Towson,MD store is opening early tomorrow?
