My parents are in Tampa, got to the apple store at 7 and were 5th in the queue,
Got 2 16gb's in black and white

And people continue to think it is the demand and that some plant in china is cranking 'em out as fast as they can. ********. Apple has made plenty of them--they just want to slowly feed stores to continue the hype and belief that "I've got to get my hands on one!". It is a brilliant marketing ploy that only Apple can get away because of exciting products. But again, brilliant strategy and we are fools playing along.

You ARE a fool if you believe any of what you just said.

NYC SOHO which opens at 9AM

got there 8AM, there were about 100 people ahead of me, first people in line got there before 5AM.

Apple store employees said only Black and White 64GB WIFI and White Verizon 64GB were in stock. Gave some crap about not being able to comment on inventory levels, and instead let the line build and build in the cold rain.

Line moved incredibly slow, I had to step out to go to work because it would have taken over 2 hours to even get in the store and they probably would have been sold out

As reported earlier, lots of people from Chinatown, and all were leaving the store with 2 iPads. Even an 80-year old Chinese man was waiting in front of me...

I called Montgomery Mall Bethesda Apple twice yesterday and got 2 different people who said they will NOT be opening early to sell iPads today.

Anyone actually go this morning? Too bad I had client meeting this morning and couldn't make any "fictitious" early opening. I'm just curious if they lied...again.

Easton Town Center in Columbus received less than 20. I think most were Verizon. They had no AT&T ones. I was about 16th in line (two people left the store with no iPad) and they had one black 16GB wifi left when I got inside, which is what I'd ordered online, so I snagged it. :)

went to the Garden State Plaza mall in NJ today at 8AM. I was 31 in line and they had little supply of Wifi and Verizon models, no AT&T. I was one of the last to nab a white Verizon model. So glad I got one. :D

I take it they sold out? :(

I take it they sold out? :(

yea unfortunately. I was the last one to get them. When they ran out of Wifi models, half the line left. I'm sure more stock is coming tomorrow. The lady who helped me buy mine was telling me the same deal of how they get shipments everyday and don't know what they will get.

Got to the Fashion Valley San Diego store at 7:20AM. They only had 16GB White Verizon iPads left. Hello Verizon :)

I called a few northern NJ stores. They definitely got a shipment of iPads today, but the number and variety seemed to be quite limited. Everything sold out quickly. The number that are being delivered seems to be small and what would be expected for normal deliveries in a few months when interest dies down. They don't seem to be trying to replenish stock adequately to meet the current demand and obvious interest.

Long line at Pasadena, CA. I don't even know if they're getting any in. I just wanna exchange for the white one. Clearly half the people here are resellers.

At the Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks, CA. About the 15th of 20 people here so far, behind the same guy as yesterday haha and the same ol' lady is behind me. I'll keep you updated.

I wonder why there are limited AT&T models.

Verizon is useless outside of the US. AT&T models can be re-sold internationally for a premium since it is GSM technology.

Many other countries may not get this for quite a while (I can't get one in this country), so I'm sure there are many euro-nerds out there willing to pay a good amount for one of these on eBay or Klauslist or whatever Craigslist equivalent they have. Wi-fi only models can also be resold internationally, so the Verizon models are the ones that are going to have the best chance of availability.

I didn't know they were opening early... I was thinking of going down there around 11am before lunch traffic. I guess I'm already too late

Waiting in line at the Los Angeles, century city mall. Apple rep just came outside and said they got iPads in!! No AT&T, one verizon, but they did get a bunch of wifi models in.
