Color me surprised. Apple the worlds biggest cry baby does it again.

To me this just tells me Apple is running scared.

Gosh. If Apple adding Samsung's latest phone to the list means Apple is running scared, Samsung adding every product Apple makes to their list must mean they are sprinting.

Boring "news" if you ask me.

But boring or not, this is getting a little old Apple. :)

Every time I see apple involving patent lawsuit, I know they are officially trolling like that one company trolling in app purchase.

19 phones in six years? Really?

Yes, because we can all see that donating to Africa IS proved to be working.
So that the children can grow up happy and have a ton more children in geometric progression, so Samsung and Apple can donate another 10 billion and so on...

That's brilliant.

That's probably the most pointless comment on this thread so far.

And yet, here you are on a site dedicated to Apple. Obviously isn't that boring.

A giant screen may be wonderful for you, but for me (and I'm sure others, given Apple's sales) I don't really want something that size in my pocket, or in my hand.

Enjoy your S4 mega mini XL.

Is there a "Don't display stories about ridiculously wealthy companies filing patent lawsuits against each other because after the first fifty times they start to get tiresome and, let's face it, I've got me own problems, and to be honest I just want to see what the next iPhone or iMac is going to be like" setting?

And to think we are funding this nonsense with every Apple purchase.

The hypocrisy of the notion that its only Apple who perpetuates silly lawsuits like this is astounding.....

Notice, Samsung has counter-sued to include literally EVERY Apple product and service.....I mean really?

"Oh ya! Well....well....we sue EVERYTHING!"

*Samsung lawyers high-five*

This whole ordeal is a laughing stock.

My co-worker has the new galaxy and it sucks. I messed around with it and said, meh.
That's just me.

I know, Apple does things incrementally. They're so darn behind though. It's really pathetic. I hope they do a major overhaul on iOS7 instead of a stupid flat design. I'm not really that excited for something so small and mediocre.

Apple is behind? Behind who? With Jelly Bean Google has finally caught up to Apple. Besides, only about 1/4 of Android devices are running Jelly Bean. I have a Samsung phone that was released one year ago that I had to root to put JB on it. It was pretty good with ICS but still behind what Apple offers. JB is a nice OS but most people won't run it until they get a new phone. By then, a new version of Android will be out and their/our phones will likely not be updated. This means that most people using Android phones are running a generation or two behind (40% of active Android devices are running Gingerbread or lower - two+ generations behind; Gingerbread is pretty awful).

So Android is just finally starting to catch up to Apple; this means that Apple is far from being behind. They will be if they stop updating iOS but iOS 7 is coming out soon.

Now if you are talking about phone hardware, that's a different, albeit debatable, matter. Many have features and screen sizes Apple phones do not have but most lack the quality, fit, and finish of the iPhone. Most of the manufacturers still wait to see what Apple does with the iPhone before they make any huge changes. Most of their designs are iterative of Apple's but without the attention to detail that Apple has.

All this is going to do is make some lucky lawyers very rich. Nothing will come of this lawsuit, other than damage the image of apple; making them look as being afraid of some competition. While they're free to spend their money how they please (since this is a company and not a government we really can't complain about what they do, especially if you're not a shareholder) this really does feel like a waste of resources. Imagine these funds went into R&D?
