LOL, who's this dude? I liked the video a lot, he's kinda funny and neurotic, but comes off ok. And he summarised things well.

The point here isn't that if Apple didn't come up with the iPhone Android devices would have continued down the road of blackberry forever of course. Surely there would have come a time when Google themselves said that, ok let's do one touchscreen phone. But the key thing to remember is that Apple took the riskiest step and introduced something other than the industry leader's design which was Blackberry.

They should concentrate on making beautiful devices..
Seems Samsung S4 is a heavy rival for Apple.. Good for us, well i am swithing this week to a S4 - iOS and the small screens got boring.. :)

I used to think the same about screen size but now that I have a S3 I actually prefer the smaller phone for one handed use I think between 4" - 4.5" the ideal size but to go 4.5 I think you have to almost eliminate the bezel for it to be comfortable for one handed use.

If you usually use your device with two hand all the time then I guess the bigger the better. But I got used to doing a lot of one handed messaging with my iphone.

It's how closed ios is that hurts my user experience. Allowing more customization, being able to set non ios apps as the default and being able to do functions that apps like air droid allow you to do would put ios way over the top of any other platform. To bad that will never happen.

I still prefer the iphone and ios in general for its simplicity but like what how open Android is and what it allows me to do. Quandry of quandries.

Im getting REALLY ********d off with Apple!!!

Tim Cook, if you're reading this, why don't you guys spend more time developing and bringing to market a phone to compete with the S4 rather than spending all your time in court!

As much as I now LOVE my S4 (which I replaced my iPhone 5 for, best move ever!), I want to read about great new Apple products that will bring me back to Apple, not about how Apple are AGAIN seeking to sue Samsung!!!!!!!!!

The colour of the galaxy s4

Side note: What happened to the 1bn that was awarded and all that jazz?

That award has been cut damn near in half already, and another trial will be held where it may be cut even more.

The jury was out to lunch, listening to some loudmouth with an ax to grind instead of listening to the judge. It was a fiasco.

They are not spending any time in court, their lawyers are. You want their lawyers to develop phones?

Let's not forget why Apple is pissed...

Oh sweet Jesus. Please don't trot out the before and after jpegs. I think a lot of people are simply tired of this. Apple and Samsung should ban together and submit a patent for the perpetual motion machine. They darn created it.

I guess we all needed to hear this for some reason...

And some say there aren't Apple haters on MR, especially new registrants. ;)

Why do we need to hear from you? He's a hater because his opinion differs from yours? New registrant? Look at your register date and look at mine. I have more than a decade on you here. Apple's products ARE getting boring. The basically same thing over and over again. Someone points that out and they are a hater? No, they are logical and you are blind.

Can't wait to see Apple's radical redesign. They're going to make it thinner. Let's all count how many times Apple says "amazing" in their promo video for the iPhone 5s and iOS 7.

And for the record, android caught up and passed iOS at Gingerbread. It so far ahead now it is even open for debate. All I see is Apple borrowing ideas from Android. ::cough:: notification center ::cough::

I wonder who Apple will borrow from this time? Windows Phone? Android? Blackberry? All three?

A giant screen may be wonderful for you, but for me (and I'm sure others, given Apple's sales) I don't really want something that size in my pocket, or in my hand.

Yeah, a small percentage of current smartphone buyers like the tiny little screens that Apple uses. But the vast majority of people like normal sized screens.

It is good that Apple continues to serve shrinking niche markets.

According to Forbes, "Apple’s market share in smart phones will fall to about 12% this quarter, compared to 23% in the same quarter of 2012. Further, ... Apple’s market share may fall into single digits next quarter."

Android was meant to physical keyboard phones until iPhone appear from nowhere. Suddenly Bam! The G1 was born.

Android was, from the start, meant to be hardware agnostic and run on any form factor the device makers could come up with. The fact that iPhone catapulted the popularity of all-touchscreen phones doesn't change that.

Let's not forget why Apple is pissed...

Cherry-picked and misleading picture, there are many pre-iPhone, iPhone-like phones that belong on the left side. Ericsson had the all-touchscreen P800 in 2002. Anyone who paid attention could see that phones progressed towards bigger and bigger screens before the iPhone, it was just the natural evolution of the technology.
The only real revolution with the iPhone was the heavy emphasis on gestures rather than simply using the touchscreen as a substitute for a mouse pointer as was the case with every touchscreen phone before.

Which of these sizes is "normal" exactly?

Hey Cook.

Fire some of these lawyers, who LITIGATE with nothing to show for it.

Hire some devs to INNOVATE instead of pulling OSX devs for a last minute desperation update of iOS7.

Maybe you guys can help me out here. I have both Apple and Android devices, and like them both. (Even like my Windows Computers [except Win8])

But what did Apple actually come up with themselves?

Tablets - Nope. Worked on Windows based tablets many many years ago. (BTW..I thought the Newton was cool. But I think I was the only one)

Touch screen phones with Windows type OS - Nope. Done way before the iPhone (but Apple did it better :)

App Store - Nope....Steam anyone.

Notification Bar - Nope...Android had this before Apple.

What Apple does is take others ideas and makes them better. They are also allowed to Patent things that are surprising. Also Apple is great at timing. In other words they release things to the public when the public is ready.

I like Apple as I have many many of their products, but I am also not closed minded by thinking Apple can do no wrong.

I am open to hearing what Apple has come up with on their own within the past 10-15 year.

I feel all dirty now....so must do this :apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

And to think we are funding this nonsense with every Apple purchase.

Not only that, but Samsung profits greatly from every iPhone purchase. If not for Samsung, the iPhone wouldn't be nearly as good a product.

Apple fans should be on their knees worshiping Samsung, and thanking them for all the help they have given to Apple. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!

Ok with galaxy s2 apple had a somewhat basis for their claim. To a clueless consumer it did kind of look like an iphone. But with s3 and now s4 no comparison.

The s4 is nothing like iphone. No feature is like iphone. In fact gs4 has more advanced features thanks ios 6.

Apple is getting desperate now. They realized Samsung is ahead of the smartphone game.

Apple needs to keep quiet and focus on making ios fresh again.

Wow seriously :apple: this s*** is getting real annoying to the point where I just don't want to make an iPhone purchase. They should focus more time and resources on making a phone with screen size between 4.5" - 4.9"

Which of these sizes is "normal" exactly?

Somewhere between 4.5 and 5 inches is normal these days.

Of course, there are the el-cheapo pieces of crap out there with 3.5 or 4 inch screens, but they are the exception. And then there is the iPhone, which uses the same size as they do, but most people don't buy that stuff.

Common sense, logic and facts is not accepted here :p

Why do people here just make things up?

I don't know, perhaps you should ask yourself first?

Or fewer and fewer parents are buying their children cheap android phones.
