Interesting...

I'm curious as to what flavor of the PowerVR Rogue GPU the new A7 is using. It's clearly the Rogue, but I've seen no indication of what model.

iPhone Explained

"C" stands for 'Childish.'
"S" stands for 'Sophisticated.'
"4S" (with 8 GB !!!) stands for 'ForSaken.'

You know what, both phones are just great and I'm glad Apple is so successful in the iToy market. But I'm afraid the time has come for Apple to sell off the Macintosh division.

I understand computers are no longer the important money maker to Apple that they once were, but, IMHO, they are neglecting the Mac line.

Many of us have been loyal Mac users for many years and depend on these machines for our livelihood. An update every 18 month or 2 years (or more) is unacceptable. If Apple doesn't want the Mac business anymore because there is more money to be made in toys, that's fine - and I'm not saying that I even blame them. But they aren't getting the support and attention that they (and us, the end users) deserve.

I'd love to see Apple spin off "Macintosh, Inc" to a group who can help the Mac continue to evolve because right now, it's stagnate....

I know this post isn't going to be popular - - - JMO

True but this is just the natural evolution of computing. Probably in 5 years you'll be editing HD/4k footage on your tablet.

I think we'll see a big Macintosh update in a month at the Mavericks launch.

New Mac Pro, new Macbook Pro Retina (maybe even in black color like the tower), new iMac, etc.

As I'm planning to keep my iPhone 5 and update to iOS7 ASAP, that statement about the 5S with its monster A7 running iOS7 is a little concerning.

Nothing can be done about that, this is Apple showing off their new animations "slowly". Such a pitty we can't do plist hacks to speed up animations like in OS X. But you get accustomed to it after a while.

Dear Apple:

Please explain WHY $100 to jump from 16GB to 32GB.
And I'm not even asking where is the SD card slot.
Get on with the program! Competition is catching up.

And why no PS/2 port? Some of like to connect keyboards!

So, to sum up. In the 41 months since the iPhone 4 was released, we have:

-- A faster CPU
-- Siri
-- A screen that's bigger by 0.5 inches in one dimension
-- A better camera
-- A fingerprint reader
-- More colors

And we are still paying 2010 prices for flash memory that costs less than a quarter of what it did. A 64 gig USB 3 stick is $30, 64 gig high speed SSD's are in the $60 range. upgrading the iPhone to 64 gig is still $200. Even though the OS and Apps have grown over time, the flash size is still the same.

I think the celebrations are well underway at google and samsung. Even Steve Ballmer has got to be laughing right now.

Yea because Steve Ballmer is so brillant at producing phones and tablets that are wildly successfuly. Doesn't Microsoft charge an extra $100 to go from 32GB to 64GB on their tablet. I suspect Samsung is scrambling right about now trying to figure out how to copy the Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

Why aren't they taking pre-orders for th 5s? How are you supposed to ensure getting in online on day 1? I don't have time to go to the store.

Ehh, yawn…looks like the last one. A couple of features are cool, but this is Apple we're talking about. Can't wait for 6.

If you buy products because of how they look or how their look changes from year to year, you may as well go to sleep. I just purchased a new car to replace my old 2009 model. Except for the color and shape of the headlights, it looks exactly the same. But wow, you wouldn't believe the handling and performance changes. Same with most every product on the market.

Expecting Apple to reinvent the look of every product every year is crazy. How do you make significant improvement on perfection?

Why would Steve Ballmer be laughing? They lost nearly a billion dollars on Surface and are not getting anywhere with it. Steve is also being forced into early retirement.

Google's not making that much money off Android, their $12 billion purchase of Moto has give them more trouble than it is worth.

Samsung's about to get their ass kicked in EU for violating their obligations to FRAND and could lose tens of billions of dollars in fines soon as they're trying to settle and has killed all of their lawsuits against Apple there.

In the meantime, Apple keeps raking in more money than ever and the same is true for their developers.

What exactly are you hoping that Apple would do? They have never cared about what users want. They'll do what they think is the best and people keep buying them.

If you don't like what Apple is doing, then buy Android. Vote with your money.

Couldn't agree more, but also add;

-- thinner
-- slightly changed design
-- new port

I don't recall them saying that you could only get one from a store. They'll have them availabe through the Apple Store website once they're available. You just can't pre-order on-line.

Doesn't it have the same internals as an iPhone5? Sort of a stretch to call that a low budget phone. Diff between it as 5 is the 5C's got a plastic case and a little larger battery. Am I overlooking anything?

People need to read the hands on first impressions of the 5C. I have yet to find a tech site that said it felt or looked cheap. In fact several said this is the way to do plastic.

My feeling is the plastic phone is more about product differentiation than trying to make something cheap. There's a clear distinction now between the flaghship and its cheaper sibling. And people will pay extra for good quality. I guess we'll find out if Apple made a mistake on pricing, but it doesn't appear the "cheap" moniker is applicable. Unless those people using that term think the Lumia's are cheap too?

First it's more than more than the storage size, these are 2 different models.

2nd Apple has never has an SD slot on the iPhone, why would they start now?
