Bad news if you have ordered from Three on preorder day. Looks like you are not getting your iPhones on release day.
This is a reply from three on facebook when someone has been messed around with their preorder. So what technical errors are they talking about?
Three UK Hi Scott - Really sorry to hear you've had this experience We've had to push back the delivery date due to increased demand and technical errors. If you'd like to express your dissatisfaction, you can fill in our support form: http://bit.ly/1q51t23 >Madeline
OUCH!
It seems that the major UK carriers have effed up the prelaunch in a big way. No extra bandwidth on Friday causing o2 and EE websites to both crash for pretty much the whole day. These are both very very large organisations, to not have contigency or the foresight that demand would be high shows how little they thought any of this through. Espeically when you consider Tim Cook himself said that the new iPhones would trigger the mother of all upgrades.
Most people who managed to pre-order have been left in the dark, or not had any sort of notification. They continue to take preorders on the basis of delivering in a couple of weeks, whilst then telling people that it might be more like a month.
The updates they are giving via Twitter etc are so ambiguous they might as well say nothing at all. EE are currently directing customers to a page which details how the delivery process works which is so woolly that it seems to have confiused people more.
I can't see this getting any better come Friday, or for the next few weeks as peoples expectations of delivery timescales start getting dashed.
