Troll generated, entirely. It's the antenna-gate for the iPhone 6.

I agree to a point that the trolls are out in force over this however surely common sense would prevail? Manufacturers don't make suit pockets or smart casual wear to accommodate an iPad mini size device let alone an iPhone 6 + size device to sit happily in trousers. These are usually figure hugging garments. If people apply a bit of logic its not just the pocket that is the issue, it's also the fact that when seated your thighs and butt will widen/spread therefore taking up the remaining available space in those area's. Its inevitable your phone will get @!$&*!.

You're safest garment would be combat trousers. Loads of space in those and side pockets where the 6+ plus would be safe.

Come on people use that nogin (or remain being a gonad and blame someone else for your knucklehead moment)

Durability is exactly what I was waiting on before ordering a 6+.

My 4S goes in my rear pocket so it doesn't irradiate my balls. I sit on it all the time and it doesn't bend. I'm not sure I want to trade it in for a delicate monstrosity I have to carry in a man purse.

This is a real problem with Ive: he focuses on aesthetics and thinness to the exclusion of durability and ergonomics. It's not very surpising that an ultra thin iPhone made out of thin aloominium would bend.

Notice the Android devices made out of aluminum: they are generally curved on the back, which makes for a stiffer design. They do not bend.

I'm sure the other drivers around you would have problems should your phone ring and you decide to try to fish it out of your pocket on the road. Take the phone out of your pocket while driving. That's a safety third issue you're describing.

why would you use your iPhone while driving . that is a safety first issue. No where did the poster say he would answer his phone while driving. You said that which kinda hints at you use your phone while driving which to me ranks up there with drink driving

Just because it fits on a pocket and you can carry it on a pocket, doesn't mean that you should sit with it on a pocket… Or do any high intensive physical activity with it in your pocket…

It doesn't takes a rocket scientist to figure out that if you pressing your aluminium iPhone with the right force it will bend… And guess what? Siting with tight pants will produce that kind of pressure.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that a company shouldn't produce a phone like that to the mass public. If there are already cases of people bending it in less than a week what do you think it's going to look like in 6 months time?

I wouldn't call bending a accident. This is a design flaw and not the customers fault. Apple should account for this and we will see in the next couple weeks how many more incidents will occur. If the IPhone 6 Plus ends up bending for many customers and with its 1 GB of ram, the device will surely be called a lemon which is a tragedy for fans of apple.

Ok, so if you abuse your phone then it will get bent. Either you need to lose weight or you need to learn how to take care of your devices. This is not the manufacturers fault for not thinking of every stupid thing someone might do with the device, if so gun companies would have been out of business centuries ago.

Fat-shaming based only on conjecture and calling out pocket-storage of a cell phone as irresponsible use.

I'm not calling for anyone to be mad at Apple. I'm not mad. I'm not really invested in this story. But this is just embarrassing. I'd be just as baffled seeing this kind of nearly-blind fanatical defense from someone over any company.

I had bending problems with my iPhone 5 as well. My friend also had the same issue a few months later, so I'm sure I'm not alone.

Attached an image if you're curious. Apple would not replace it (w/ AppleCare) due to the bend point right above the Volume Down button. Clearly if a device is going to bend, it will have a point.

Cracking me up

I have only read the first 5 or 6 postings and you guys have me chuckling. OMG LOLOL Thanks for the laughs. Sorry for the people it happened to. That is why I always have to have a hard case. :D

First thing that sprung to mind... is the guy fat? I mean, I don't have my 6+ yet, awaiting it eagerly, but I would expect quite some force being necessary to really bend the phone. With an overweight user, the tension created when seated and phone in pocket will be far higher than with a non-overweight person.

Sorry if this was covered before. Didn't want to wade through 400+ posts.

and what about the millions that haven't bent, what do you think they will look like in 6 months time?

Countless hundreds of thousands (just my guess) of flagship 5.5"+ Android phone users store their phones in their pockets and there has yet to be any complaints of the hardware bending. The software on the other hand...

Me thinks you didn't look too hard:

And there's more, just Google.

Put a Glass around next version

Now we know why the Glass component on the front and rear is important. People always be careful with glass around

iPhone 6 plusS: "our team of metallurgists have designed an aluminium alloy that is 5 times stronger than elemental aluminium, and 5 times stronger than american aluminum."

Apple Spokesman: "We failed to anticipate the bending issues involving the iPhone 6 Plus because 99% of our employees wear pleated khakis, cargo pants, or golf shorts."

Ah right.. It's company's fault that you put your aluminium iPhone in a place where it will be produced lots of pressure and it gets bent!

You must be one of those users that puts their laptop in a pillow or on top of a blanket blocking the air, and then blame the manufacture when it burns out…

If it bends is your fault, not Apple's… Apple or any other company shouldn't be blamed for improper handling from customers.

Whoever is bending their iPhone is evidently not ridiculously obsessed enough with the online world... you're supposed to be gazing at the screen 17 hours a day, forming "witty" replies to inane facebook posts, shouting loudly to all who care (noone) about where you are or what you've just eaten, or taking selfies of your cat.

iPhone: designed for the hand, not the pocket. You have yourselves to blame for not keeping up to date with the silliness which YOU MUST keep up to date with, or your peers will despise you.

Just get a Nokia 3310, if you're putting it in your pocket. You're not using it right :D

Hmmm... I guess Apple needs to start using the phone equivalent of the moose test for cars.
