As one with a plus on order, I´m starting to wonder how I´m going to carry this thing around. I´m still on my iPhone 4, so this will taking some getting used to.
I hope I can still carry my phone in my jeans pocket

You’ll feel like a bit of a goober, but I recommend checking out those iPhone 6 PDF templates that are circulating. If you stick it to thick cardboard, I think it really does give you a decent sense of what it will be like to carry a 6 vs. a 6+

To prevent bending, iPhone 6 Plus owners may want to remove their iPhones from their pockets before sitting or bending. If a pocket is unavoidable, then customers may want to place their device in a roomier pocket that allows the device to slide out the way. A rigid case may also provide protection from flexing or bending, as well damage from dropping the device.

No they don't. Are you ****ing kidding me? If a phone can't survive in a pocket, than it is a misconception - it is NOT the Customers fault. Pls stop making such stupid excuses. And Apple- get your **** together.

Not surprised. They feel like cheap phones to me. It felt like if I pressed on the screen too hard the phone would snap. Left the Apple Store appreciating my 4S more.

Feel bad for the guy but the thing that struck me was he said the phone was in his "FRONT pocket of my suit pants", I take that to mean dress slacks. I wear dress slacks for work and slacks in generally are pretty loose fitting around the pocket areas and not tight at all so it's surprising that with very little (if any) pressure was put on the phone. I could understand with jeans that are designed to be form fitting and much thicker material with no give but slacks? I think either he got a bad phone, is not being totally upfront with all the details or needs to find better fitting slacks that aren't similar to skinny jeans. I want say that this was an issue with the iPhone 4 or 5. I remember a video where a guy went into a store to exchange his phone because it was bent, they opened up a new box and placed the phone on the table and you could press on the bottom and see the phone wobble a little bit and this was brand new right out of the box.

this freaks me the hell out. My 6+ arrived today and I only have an apple Leather case to put it in....my amazon hard shell is also coming today so hopefully sooner rather than later. After tracking this thing for 5 days if I bend it first day I will jump out the window.

Things I remove from my pants pockets before driving:

Keys
Wallet
Coins
Phone

I wouldn't keep my iPhone 4 in my pant pocket while driving, let alone a iPhone 6+

I have always used the phone naked because prior to the iPhone 6, the industrial design was far better than any other manufacturer. So showing it off was a good feeling, especially since I'm a designer.

I also had an iPhone 5 that bent from front pocket use. It's because of the super thin aluminum, lacking a rigid glass back, as in the iPhone 4 series.

Now that the iPhone 6 design is rather me-too than breakthrough, I might need to resort to a case of I get a 6. (I just paid nearly $300 to replace the bent iPhone 5.)

I use my phone naked, too. I also use it with clothes, and pockets. I don't want to have to be naked for it to not bend :).

Overweight or Not Very Bright

Ok, so if you abuse your phone then it will get bent. Either you need to lose weight or you need to learn how to take care of your devices. This is not the manufacturers fault for not thinking of every stupid thing someone might do with the device, if so gun companies would have been out of business centuries ago.

That sim card location definitely creates a weak point.

Yep, i think i'm going to start wearing blazers and jackets just so i can avoid jeans pockets. Any phone around 7mm is going to have torque on it and the iPhone seems to be just as weak especially around those cutouts.

I would have loved to have seen apple address the issue by switching back to heavier tougher and springier steel. I mean the weight is the main reason for the iPhone using aluminium but the steel iPhone 4/4s was just indestructible (minus the glass). Like the apple watch there should be some body chassis choices for us to pick from!?

I just sit back and laugh at this. Anyone with half a brain would realize that it isn't a good idea to put a 5.5" phone in their pocket. Now they are going to complain to Apple that their phone is bent.

Countless hundreds of thousands (just my guess) of flagship 5.5"+ Android phone users store their phones in their pockets and there has yet to be any complaints of the hardware bending. The software on the other hand...

This is quite a serious problem. I wonder if apple didn't anticipate this, or they didn't come across this issue during their quality assurance testing. I wonder if were going to hear something from them regarding this.

You're right that it's a serious problem. The issue is as a result of a lack of common sense. A phone that large will not fit comfortably in most pockets. Anyone with a 6+ has to recognise that a tight fitting pocket will result in little movement in fabric which will ultimately result in pressuring the item. In this case bending your $&*@! iPhone 6+!!!!

Come on how can you not see that happening. Were people expecting Apple to solve that problem for them as well!:apple:

You all need to stop apologizing for Apple.

The fact remains, if you can't put your cell phone in your pants pocket then the cell phone has been poorly designed.

We need to clarify the differences between a cell phone and a tablet.

The iPhone 6+ is a tablet with cellular antennas on board. Apple should NOT be selling this product as a phone.

The same goes for the Note, the LG G3, etc.

I've got a 6+. It's GLASS... I'm not going to sit on it at any time DUH!!!
