Some of you people are ridiculous. Stop attacking the OP. Don't believe him, fine. But don't act like he is trolling without having any proof whatsoever. The phone is weaker than before. Its a new phone. Theres been reports of it bending. Of course he might check it often. And all he is doing is reporting a bend he noticed that is currently not visible to the naked eye yet (because we all know our eyes are infallible and can't fool us).

This phone cannot bend! Surf Money, KdParker & HenryDJP have science behind them, Consumer Reports, all who question it -are liars!

I had it with this forum, I wish it only had true believers/apple paid posters like SM, KP and HDJP. Just read all their replies....there is a constant flow >
Till you upload the photo:
Step 1: No Picture, fake
Step 2: OP just joined forum, extremely suspicious, samsung insider for sure
After uploading the photo:
Step 3: You bent it by dropping it, keeping it in the front pocket, which idiot does that, you deserve it
Step 4: Start an endless argument till OP just gives up and leaves the thead

On a serious note, sorry OP - good luck with the replacement, I am expecting my + to bend but still hoping Apple will make updated versions and we all get the opportunity to upgrade to those.

I'm not being paid by Apple so keep my name out ya mouth.

Thanks!! I should have thought of this earlier.

Awesome! Thank you. I just did that with your username. :)

OP's post history is kind of strange but whatever. I'm still not seeing any indication that even .5% of these phones bend. Until 6% or more have this problem, it's a non issue.

It isn't until after multiple people start demanding pictures or they will call the thread BS that the OP produces one. Really gives the impression that the picture he/she finally conjured up wasn't theirs.

So you're already dismissing the potential picture I could post, getting better and better. Don't be so worried, I am not planning on posting any pic at this time

And what if it was my neighbor's phone btw, who cares, a bent phone is a bent phone...

Nope. The closing qualification didn't cause the preceding comment to disappear. His assertion in that post and one before it was that there are two kinds of iPhone 6 Plus'. Ones that are bent and ones that haven't bent YET. Emphasis his. So, again, this goes directly to his mindset. He wants his to be bent. My point stands.

I apologize to those who really don't care about this, but since Monkey keeps referring to that post in that other thread, but refuses to point to it, I just wanted to place the link here for people to say that I quoted my post in its entirety, while Monkey keeps lying about me "literally" saying things I have never said.

There you go, who's lying now... https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1797764/

Sigh indeed. You just proved that the logic behind demanding a picture is utterly flawed. A photograph proves how it was bent? The people who cry foul because "no photo" aren't even bothering to (or maybe just can't) think their position through.

No. I disagree.
There are 3 tiers.

1. People who make a claim without any proof.
2. People who make a claim and have as proof a phone the went through a lot of effort to bend, or a picture of a phone someone else bent at the Apple store.
3. People who make a claim and have as proof a phone that was bent during the course of normal usage.

When people ask for a picture, it is at weeds out the lazy and unimaginative people in tier 1.
A photo doesn't prove how it was bent...although the ridiculous videos and blogs including the guy who claimed his thumb hurt for 20 minutes after he bent it, or those 2 kids from the U.K. who first said they couldn't, but then after enough effort they were able to, gives you a clue that they are in Tier 2.

sigh...

No, the implications of a phone that is bent because someone went through a lot of trouble to bend (like that guy who claimed his thumb hurt for 20 minutes after he bent it) is NOT the same as a phone that got bent by just putting it in a gym bag or taking the case off or only carrying in the top pocket of a shirt.

Also, in terms of your question about who cares if it is your neighbor's phone, well, once a person starts lying, it is hard to know when to think they are telling the truth.

reminds me the day when I was a business consultant, feeding BS to suits all day long, powerpoint presentation about the 3 tiers of this, or the 5 C's of whatever, haha...

dude, you're thinking too hard here. people like me, we don't post pictures or videos of our phones because:
- we really don't care about proving a teenager harassing us that our phone is indeed bent
- it's not asked by people that would be helped by this, it's asked by a bunch of douchebags that keep insulting us for reporting an issue on this forum, there's no benefit for us to spend the time and effort
- we're not all into posting pics and videos for the world to see, I have no facebook, twitter, youtube accounts, not gonna start now
- once people like me post pics or videos about their bent phones, the accusations shift from "you're lying" to accusations of wrong doing. you guys just won't let go, no matter how well the cases are documented. It can't possibly be a fail by Apple, they never fail, right?

if you want my pics, feel free to hack into my iCloud account; I heard it wasn't too hard these days

Hate to tell you this, but you are not a victim. This was brought about by you (albeit in normal usage)

Didn't read any of it but I can summarize it perfectly.

1... people claim there isn't a picture (or you are seeing things)
2... people claim you should've had a case (or get a better case)
3... people claim you didn't use it correctly (or you lied about how you used it)
4... people claim you should get applecare
5... people claim you should bring it back for exchange (knowing likely they will reject it)

too many apple apologists here. makes me want to leave.

Wow, big news. Tell me something I wasn't expecting.

Always follow your own advice. That's the best policy.

This thread is hilarious. I want to take this opportunity to thank all parties involved for providing me with some free entertainment.

That said, (as a bend-denier) I want to especially congratulate the OP for presenting his observations in a surprisingly objective way, and maintaining the moral high ground in the face of such overwhelming vitriol.

To the OP: Perhaps your phone has not bent through force, but due to thermal cycles? It seems unlikely to me that it would bend by such a minute amount if it had enough force applied to it to undergo plastic deformation. ie, although the bend is annoying, I would bet that it probably won't get much worse, and it's just reached a more equilibrium state between its internal forces.

I expect that the iPhone 6+ is in the awkward engineering region between smaller flat areas, which are easy to make and keep straight, and larger flat areas like an iPad, which is probably flexible enough that it hides any natural bending.

Just so the naysayers include me in their stats, my 6+ has started to bend after 15 days of use.

The bent is not yet visible to the naked eye, but failed to pass my daily test:

I had to stop reading when you said you have a daily test. Sounds like something from the door locking procedure, sidewalk crack avoiding character of Jack Nicholson from As Good As It Gets. If you are testing your phone daily as part of your routine, then a bent phone is not the problem.

Checked out the iPhone 6 on display at Target tonight. Nice screen, size seemed good, protruding camera didn't seem that bothersome, felt like nice materials, I kind if liked it. Oh yeah it was bent. I tried to bend it back and did so way easier than I expected. I don't see how this phone isn't bending for everyone. The phone is way too malleable.

Bravo. Well said.

Some people have a very strange relationship with Apple products, often bordering on religious psychosis. This is obviously great for shareholders. Some rely on Apple products to embody a kind of perfection that they themselves can not possibly achieve. Owning an Apple product is the closest many people will come to anything that remotely resembles perfection. The more imperfect the humans, the more they rely on outside talismans, and the more protective and defensive they become about them.

So if you intend to poke holes in their Apple world view, you had better come prepared for a fight. Because to be faced with evidence that their god is a fallible one is more than many people can handle.

For those who insist that reports of bent iPhones are false without photographic proof, ask yourself a few questions.

1. Why is photographic proof needed? Lots of people believe in a God without photographic proof. Why can't a verbal account be good enough?
2. How is photographic proof even proof? Won't you just say it's fake? Or that the bend was forced?
3. How would someone be served by saying their phone is bent? Why would they bother? Attention seekers can easily come up with better ways to get attention.
4. Here's the big question...why would it even matter to you if someone else's phone is bent, if yours is not? Why would you spend even one second of your precious brief time on this planet defending a giant corporation who would never dream of defending YOU?

A company makes some phones. Some people are bending them, by accident maybe, maybe on purpose, maybe without doing anything out of the ordinary. Maybe some phones are susceptible to bending because of a manufacturing flaw. Maybe they're all susceptible, due to a design flaw. Maybe some people are careless. Maybe the phone just requires different handling.

Whatever the reason, it's happening. It doesn't matter why. It doesn't matter to whom. It doesn't matter if it's happening to 9 people or 9,000. And most importantly, IT DOESN'T MATTER TO YOU. It doesn't reflect on you. You are not Apple. You are not Jony Ive. Your $600 purchase of an iPhone doesn't buy your way into the Apple board room. You are not part of an elite group because you have an iPhone. By definition of elite, no group that has multiple millions of members will ever be elite.

Apple doesn't need your help. You are not the Cupertino Bend Patrol. You are not a security guard for Apple's corporate well being. No one at Apple knows who you are or cares what you think.

If anything, you should be HAPPY about bent iPhones. It means Apple is flawed, just like you and I. It means they aren't some alien race with future technology who made a deal with the devil to take over the planet via smartphones and iPods. It also means they are not gods. 1 Infinite Loop is not the Vatican. It's a company made up of some very smart people, who make awesome gadgets, and also some mistakes. They are worthy of admiration, but not adulation. It's just a company. Repeat. It's just a company.

Transferring your fears of mortality and inadequacy to an aluminum telephone, or the company who made it, is a losing proposition. Apple can not transfer its perfect product design to your soul. You can rent it for a while, and touch it, but it is not you. Repeat. I am not my Apple product.

If your phone is flawed, so what? So are you. If your phone is perfect, so what? You're still imperfect.

Watergate struck a nerve in the USA because the president is a trusted official, whom we elected to watch over us and keep our best interests at heart, and he did not fulfill the role.

Bendgate is not a result of Apple's failure to fulfill a role. No one has elected Apple to do anything. Bendgate is YOUR insecurities and flaws laid bare.

People with bent phones do not bear the burden of proof in a roomful of random internet screen names. The burden lies with those who doubt their words to stop deifying a trillion dollar company.
