no rush to get mine. 42mm SG black.

still in processing. I'm cool with that.

Thanks apple for making quality devices.

But there was a shipment/delivery estimate before you submitted your order, correct?

The expectation to receive something before they said you would is what amazes me.

In some cases, NOT correct. When I clicked 'submit,' my order had the April 24-May 8 delivery window. My confirmation email, time stamped at 3:05AM EST said May 13-27.

crazy. exactly at 4:10pm status updated:
"Louisville, KY, United States 04/23/2015 3:48 P.M. Departure Scan"

Charged Monday, got UPS tracking last night around 6pm EST. Woke up at 630am to Apple's email. Now the only hiccup could be UPS. They tend to lump our office into the Condo building we are in and the packages could go any where from the residence's package room (we have no access), to across town to my house. (they actually re-routed a package on their own to my house last week w/o attempting delivery at the office)

42SS white sport band.

Sigh

To everyone who has been updating statuses in here, kudos. As someone who has the same shipping window, it has been intriguing to hear about everyone else’s status who is in the same boat. It is also fun to jokingly agonize together and hope against hope that we’ll see our watches sooner then they were promised to us.

To all those who think they have legitimate complaints, a few things…

1) As others have said, Apple gave you a delivery estimate when you purchased the watch and it was your choice to purchase it. If they beat that estimate, they should be commended; if they meet the estimate, you should be perfectly satisfied; and if they miss it, you will have something to complain about. But given almost no one can yet claim Apple didn’t meet the expectations they presented at the time of purchase I have exactly no sympathy for you and you have no legitimate grievance that it won’t be shipping to you four weeks early.

2) You have absolutely no idea how many watches were made, how many bands were made, how many were ordered, how many have shipped, and in what combinations. If you think the anecdotal and anonymous reports, from lets say (charitably) 100 people on this thread, gives you enough information to reasonably speculate on the status of the predicted over 2 million pre-orders, then I’d highly recommend you sign up for a very basic statistics course ASAP. The people on this board are not a representative sample, and even if they were, they are of a sufficient size to draw any conclusions. So all this “I can’t believe Apple didn’t X, Y, or Z” is bogus. You don’t know, so don’t act like you do.

3) Just because your particular model wasn’t in the April 24th shipping window when pre-orders went live doesn’t mean that mistakes were made or that the launch day should have been pushed back. A lot of people will be getting Apple Watches over the next few days… and that is great for them. The fact that you weren’t able to get yours when you wanted it doesn’t mean that everyone who will be getting one should have had to have waited another 2 weeks, month, or however long you would have wanted Apple to push back the launch for.

4) Given this is a whole new product category, Apple had to make some very very tough guesses about how many of any particular model to make. There is almost no precedent or frame of reference that they can look to build their assumptions. Even if somehow they had managed to guess perfectly which of the dozens of combinations were going to be pre-ordered and in what quantities they still have to deal with the fact that sometimes there can be unexpected issues in the production of a product, in the supply chain that provides the materials for that product, in the quality assurance of that product, etc, etc. There are tons of variables that could have led to some combination of models not being produced in the quantities they desired. There is also the fact that some of combinations are simply more difficult to make then others (the link bracelets are brushed BY HAND). In other words, it is not shocking that some models are more difficult to get then others.

5) None of this is new and not limited to Apple. Every year certain models of iPhone are constrained for months after they launch due to some combination of the factors above (and they come in far fewer combinations). The same has been true of virtually any successful product Apple has ever made.

Anyways… I feel a lot better now getting that off my chest. Thanks to those of you who are remaining rational. I can’t wait to get my SS Link.

Anyone order a 42mm SG sport with a delivery time frame of May 13-May27 and get charged yet?

Same here. I run a gd business. I usually need to be in bed at 10-11. I stayed up til 2am so I could get a nice Mother's Day present taken care of. Tell us beforehand that we're mostly ****ed and I wouldn't have wasted my time.

Same here as well, I would have had ZERO problem if they had said "hey guys not all of these will available for delivery by 4/24 so get some extra shut eye and just order after the sun comes up" :) Wife thought it was hilarious, I however did not. Just be up front with us if there are constraints thats fine make that part of the media narrative, I think the unobtainium factor would go up even more but with managed expectations. I'm still holding out hope for a status change but I've got a 42MM SS Link at right around 3:04AM and not seeing a lot of movement on those.

Bravo on this post. It's like people have never purchased an Apple product before. When was the last time anyone has heard of the hot new Apple product being so available that there were tons just sitting on shelves? Anyone who get's it before their estimated timeframe should be happy.

This guy gets it. Thank you!

What version of the watch did you order?

I ordered the space grey 42mm. I placed the order at about 12:04am but didn't receive confirmation until 12:05am. Seconds could mean thousands of orders ahead of you i guess.

I'm still waiting for any movement on my 42mm SS bsb and I can't help but be only slightly pissed that's the model they chose to make the demo displays out of haha.

Thank God for being a mature voice of reason inside this torrent of immature bickering and dissatisfaction.

Thanks to all of you guys who've remained civil and patient.

To the rest, relax....

I'm right there with you... hopefully mine will progress today and I'll have a nice Friday surprise.

does anyone knows how to check the time for when the order was placed if the initial email was deleted?
