Core 2 Duo MacBooks Announced

They only come in glossy screens now? Damn... im a photojournalist and need color accuracy on screen and it would NOT be good if things looked to have more contrast then they actually do. 🙁
 
Availability of iLife '07

Sligthly off-topic:

Judging from history what do you thing, when would iLife '07 be available?

I am seriously considering to wait a little longer (the 1.83 model has left me strongly disappointed).

So I thought I can wait a little longer and buy when iLife 07 will be included in the purchase (to make up for the lousy specs ) 🙄

the macbooks are largely a consumer notebook, and the option for matte is doubtedly that important for most consumers. macbook pros, on the other hand, are given in matte or glossy

Matte has never been an option in the MacBook -- that died with the iBook.

You can still choose beween matte and glossy in the MacBook Pro.

Haha! Everyone waited for this update and it's so lame. Core 2 Duo is nice, but I'm certainly glad I bought my r1 MB 😀

Why does that say 85W? Am i missing something, or is that a mistake? the 85W adapter is for the MBP's.
 
Why take away the option now though? That makes no sense. And APPLE consumers are largely pro-sumers....at least thats who they market their products after.

EDIT: interesting..always thought there was an option on the macbook screen. NEVERMIND!
 
only 25% faster. well, I pass it. coreduo is still faster. it's still useful or my work. but I will get new MBP when mac os x Leopard will come with mac next year. 😀

iLife is updated every year at Macworld San Francisco in January. Just wait until then if you really want. I've got a bit of a feeling that we'll be seeing quite a bit of Leopard then, quite possibly even a release date since Vista is released later that month...

I'm guessing they did that so they could use the same adapters for both. The laptop itself still has a 60W ps.

Just goes to show that what Apple says about how much faster stuff is a load of bull. How come the MBP is 39% faster and the MB only 25%. Theyre the same chips at the same speeds arent they?

What im trying to say is the MB should be 39% faster than the previous one right?

In actuality, the speed increase is only 10 percent instead of 25-39 percent.

No, the claim for the MBP is for 2.16GHz Core Duo v 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo so there is an increase in clock speed as well as the change in chip.

For the MB they don't get an increase in clock speed hence the lower claimed speed increase.
