Almost everyone that I know that owns an iPhone3G bought it more than a month ago. Do you know anyone that has bought an iPhone 3G in the past ten days? Have you, yourself, or have you seen someone buying an iPhone3G in the past ten days? I have not, and that is why I am asking this question.
Thank you. :)

I saw someone buying one tonight, at a Best Buy.

I stopped at AT&T today to look at phones for my mom, and there were only about 4 customers in there and 2 were for iPhone.

PS. All the other phones available were crap. I don't even know what to pick up for the mom. She needs basic, with a camera and cheap. I can't believe the prices of the phones. I can't imagine someone spending $200 on a LG 3G flip phone when they could have an iPhone. They were all tiny pieces of cheap plastic. Overpriced Barbie doll toys.

not really, I've only seen my buddy who was a 2g and this guy I barely know who broke his 2g so he bought a 3g. Other than that I don't know anyone with an iPhone! Actually, scratch that 2 of my facebook friends installed Facebook for iPhone.

I also saw 2 people out at a bar that each had iPhones. To be honest on campus I have not seen one other than mine. I'm sure their around, but I still see alot of blackberrys and other smart phones. I'de imagine it has to do with Apple requiring you sign a data plan. 104$ for me for only 450 min and unlimited text is somewhat steep considering you can get the same (minus data) for like 40-50 on a different carrier.

quick question.

What are the process in getting an iphone from the apple store? Do they make you sign the contract in the store? Or do you need to just be pre-approved and you do everything yourself(via itunes)?

anyone?

I just got my first iPhone, the day my Verizon contract finally expired! August 28th, 2008! I've been very happy with it, except for the fact that Yahoo Push email sucks! I signed up for the Mail2Web free Microsoft Exchange email, and thats been working great for me!

They made me sign the contract, the salesperson was very careful about letting me open the box and being the first to touch it, although I didn't really care...

And yes, I bought mine about 10 days ago.

Yep, bought one yesterday.....guy in the O2 shop said that although you can now more or less walk in and get one they turn them round really quickly and still have days when certain models go out of stock....basically when I asked him if they were still selling well his answer was that they were still selling "**** loads" and I'm only in a small town.

New 8GB 3G owner at 7pm Wednesday. No lines. No waiting. Lots of people in the store buying 3Gs though... couples/families coming in together picking up more than one.

Irvine, CA (Spectrum) location.

i'm the only one i know that has the 3G and i never seen anyone using a iPhone in public  not even the old one

I got mine 3 days ago .... been waiting for it 2 months already :( all stores I´ve been into have 200 + people on their waiting lists ... the only place I know they have iphones on stock is in the main Telefonica shop in Madrid ( 400 miles away ....)

Also I have been told that very few 16 gigs are shipped since most of the units they get are 8 gigs .

But we have the best weather in Europe :D so not everything is bad ..

Saludos

I smashed my old iphone last week in a fit of rage (fighting with the gf) and i used that as an excuse to go buy a white 16gig 3g :D

In recent weeks i've been to two different malls that have Apple stores and much to my astonishment, there were lines at both of them for people waiting to get their iphone.

I went with my boss yesterday to help her out with getting an iphone. While I was there they sold about 4 others besides us. Just 8gig ones though, I didn't see any white boxes.

I can't believe it either! There is a Verizon store about 5 minutes from my house and the day before I bought my iPhone, I walked in there and looked at what Verizon had to offer, and I couldn't believe it! They had "smart" phones that were no where near as good as the iPhone, yet they were asking $299 with a contract!!! (I feel sorry for the people that recently bought one of those phones and now have a two year contract at $70/month! and all of their friends will have iPhones)
