How pathetic to knock off the Apple store and even try to take the employees. The people in this video are total DORKS.

I really struggle to understand why with all the billions MS made over the years, they do keep insisting on the blatant duplication.

You would think they could spend some of that money on employing some decent people who have originality, surely Apple don't have the exclusivity on this.

I almost think they are doing now purely as a taunt, they surely can't be doing it in all seriousness can they?

When you weigh up the how far they have gone with jazzing the up Vista/Win7 with OSX like features, Zune, Stores, the Adverts on TV, its like an endless vendetta/taunt Ballmer is trying to poke at Apple but Apple is not even taking the bait, their just laughing at them. I bet there are execs at MS cringing at this course they are on but are too afraid to speak up about it.

My goodness, girls. You'll all need your blood pressure checked shortly.

Me? I don't really care. I use products by a lot of manufacturers; they can all open similar stores, for all I care.

I'd certainly not waste any energy getting my kecks all twisty over it.

Healey (above), I'm not sure I'd choose Apple's handling of adverts as a great showcase for their 'rising above' Microsoft's taunts ;) Their whole purpose was to bask in the reflected glory resultant in pointing out the failures of PC's, and in particular, Vista. Not necessarily a bad thing, but they were just as bad as MS, probably worse, imo.

That "Infinite Possibilities" wall/mural/poster thing looks like a straight up Apple advertisement (specifically, the App Store ads with the flying app icons).

I hope they open one near me,

Then i can go in with my macbook pro and ask them about their software on my mac for bootcamp.

If they open one near me, I'm going to go in every chance I get, and go from computer to computer, cranking up the sound and bringing up various Apple "Get a Mac" ads until they make me leave.

:p

Best Buy?

Is Microsoft competing against Best Buy? The only way I see this working is for MS to replace Best Buy with a more successful model.

So we have most readers that recognize what a pathetic rip-off this is of the Apple Stores, lex750 posting over and over again about the SF Microsoft one-off store that, interestingly, was never expanded upon until Apple's stores became a huge success, and neiltc13 repeatedly extolling the virtues of print-on-demand software. Now we just need AidenShaw to provide an in-depth analysis of the energy consumption of the Microsoft stores vs. the Apple stores (advantage: Microsoft!) and mosx complaining about how snobby the Apple store employees are whereas the Microsoft store employees welcomed him with a hug and a biscuit and this thread will be complete.

From my perspective, what better way to demonstrate products you ripped off from competitors than in a store you ripped off from a competitor, with employees dressed just like the employees in the competitor's store. It just seems...fitting.

Hey Microsoft: Retail Different.

this is great! again with the negatives... why? this is a good thing :) I live in Mission Viejo and frankly I can't wait to see what they have in store. the store is gonna be literally 6 doors down from the apple store; i wonder if there's gonna be people battling eachother from each stores.

love technology.

MS Haters, this is your chance to express all the bad feelings you have towards Microsoft...

:D

Microsoft Stealing Another Idea from Apple!

This just proves that Microsoft can't think for their own! This store is a ripe off of the Apple store thru and thru. Another reason that I don't support Microsoft!

That sure is an ugly Apple store..

EDIT: Oops, had to re-watch the video and read the article. My bad. Seriously, could they try to copy Apple anymore? Pathetic. Funniest of all, they can copy something that works so well, yet i guarantee they can make it fail completely. I can't wait to see the "Out of business" sales going on the last week.

"Pick from one of 15 versions of Microsoft Windows 7 for only $59.99!!!"

Why bother? Just connect it to the internet and wait 30 seconds...

30 seconds?!?!?! More like 14... at least that's how long it took the last time we set up a fresh out of the box windoz machine before it got hit with it's first viri...

And the thing I found the most interesting about the video was that most of the people in it looked like that worked there...

just my $0.02

Answer BARS

I predict to meet customer demand they will remodel in 6 months, so that 90% of the 'store' is Answers BARS, and 10% is product... well that is if they actually listened to customers.

The Microsoft Store SELLS computers ? OK?
