Safari on the iPad 2, iPad mini, and iPhone 5s has ground to a halt, it's ridiculous. I tried ordering something from Macy's on my iPad and it forced closed 4 times after I entered all my information. Went to my Microsft Surface Pro and it got the job done. How does a company like apple release software before fixing all the bugs? Is there any kind of quality acceptance testing that takes place before they release something to millions of users. Very disappointing.

There's a few bugs in iOS that are simply unacceptable. One is that you can't upload files from Safari. These are basic things that just aren't working.
That doesn't seem so much a bug as it is simply a missing feature. Maybe iCloud drive will let you work around that? As it is, there are 3rd party browsers which do allow this, so...
It would be nice if Apple took a few billion and hired some proper software engineers and overhauled iOS because Jony Ive has made a mess of things. You would think iOS 7 was borderline bad with some poor design choices and iOS 8 is just piling on. I refuse to update any of my iPad's that are running on iOS 7.

1. Safari on iPad Air, when you tap on address bar, the keyboard stutters while coming up. But if you disable transparency from accessibility settings, the lag disappears.
2. Safari loads pages slower and slower as time passes, to the point it simply refuses to load any pages completely. Solution is to disable and enable wifi or disable spotlight search in Safari settings.
3. Safari reloads tabs after switching from another app using multitasking menu. Solution? There is no solution for this problem. Either Apple optimize Safari further or increase RAM in future models to 2 GB or more. As the websites get heavier and heavier, this tab reloading problem is going to worsen further.
4. Safari crashes randomly. Again, poorly optimized Safari and lack of RAM (! GB only) is the culprit.
5. New weather app on iPhones is laggy when tapping on different cities.
6. Random crash logs and Thermal not updating, stacks+backboardd logs in diagnostic data. (Apple will fix this)
7. Music app is laggy while scrolling albums on iPhone 5c and 5.

It's a fiasco. No way around it. It's not just the bugs, it's the fact that 4 of the major touted features (ICloud Photo Library, Health App, Family Sharing and Apple Pay)were pulled, not available or not working correctly. Then the countless bugs and poor performance on many devices and it's clear this thing is weeks away from being ready. It's essentially just another beta phase.

So weird how some have issues and many do not. I ran the IOS 8 betas on my iPad Air, iPhone 5s, Yosemite on my iMac. I had some issues but nothing like what some people experience. I have experienced the tab reloading on my air but honestly i don't give a crap about that. Sure seems to tune others up however.
Apple Pay isn't really an iOS 8 feature and wasn't pulled. Health is still there just a bug in HealthKit that is being worked on. Family Sharing is there as far as I can tell. Some iCloud stuff isn't yet. Pretty far from a fiasco.

A bug that prevented it from being implemented on launch day.
Family Share isn't intuitive, requires multiple purchases of the same item, will lock users out for months if they don't set it up correctly and required passwords entered by both parties for every single app update. It's as poorly coded as the original podcast app.
The iCloud Photo Library was a major feature and (allegedly) an improved way to manage your photos. Without it, you're basically left keeping ALL photos on your phone and Cloud in sync...with no easy way to differentiate between the two.
It will be better in a few months...but for launch day it's a hot mess. For a company that prides themselves on intuitive software that 'just works'...it's a big swing and a miss.
Pretty much this. It's a little bit irksome that my whole family got iPhone 6's today, and the big features that were advertised (and part of the reason we got them) aren't functional. I'm especially looking at you, HealthKit and Family Sharing. I know that's just the price you pay for buying a product on launch day, and a week from now most of those issues will be resolved (and by October all of them will be), but yeah it's annoying.
A bug even last day in a feature isn't something crazy. Not good but nothing drastic either.
Family share is there. The implementation perhaps can be better or different but that doesn't mean the feature isn't there and doesn't work like designed.
The iCloud stuff is a miss. Still in the eyes of most the upgrade still has more in it than many others have even with all that. So ways off from problematic let alone some huge miss for most typical and even less typical users. There were more complaints about iOS 7 changes on forums like these and even that still worked out just fine.
I had issues with safari on my 5s and this fixed it for me.
Turn off all settings in search options (preload top hit, spotlight suggestions, search engine suggestions and quick website search) in safari settings. I also turned off fraudulent website warning but I don't thing that was the problem. Safari works fine now after being super slow to load pages and timing out.

not sure if it causes problems but my wife uses voiceover and she keeps losing siri and airplay will not show any devices sometimes. I have had random lockups too. she nI was doing the restore after the update WIFI was so slow I was getting .2 mbs. a couple times as soon as my iPad was updated I saw phone calls now nothing and ams messages don't show.

There used to be less features, less hardware variations, less other apps to introduce even more variations, etc.
I am not aware of any such feature. You can upload photos, yes, but not files (at least not without a 3rd party browser).
Sorry it isn't working for her. I did try out Siri and it was working. All the features I normally use on the 5S seem to be working just fine.
There are so many new kits I am not surprised. I kinda thought they would pull back a little and knock them out one after another. I think that's what they will have to do. If you think your not happy try the dev crew who wrote a ton of apps for health kit. The roll out is not a disaster but a debacle. I say that cause they changed fewer features on osx and yet it is still in beta so I think they had hoped more iOS locked down. There a a lot of groups not getting time off till all items work I am sure. I think they need to do a angle testing like they do for osx. This will find more bugs and yield cleaner code on launch day. I figure 8.1 will be out before the end of the year I think this time we will get a 8.2 even with so many kits to perfect. By 8.2.1 I figure the battery on the 6 will be 15% better than gm that seems to be the norm. It take time and data to find the memory leaks and power hogs.
