I got EDGE!! Fill in the "Add iPhone services" form on 02, wait 24 hours and change your APN to payandgo.02.co.uk - u don't even need the bolt-on!

Great stuff! And you can ponder the meaning of life while you wait for pages to load ;)

Without the bolt-on I expect you'll be paying by the Kb?? Or maybe, just maybe, O2 are throwing in 6 months of free data for screwing up the 3G launch? :confused::rolleyes:

I get 1mb free on my tariff so I dunno yet. I'll know when my credit reaches 0p in like 4mins knowing 02 tho ;) 250kbps so not 2 far off 3G lol

DONT SURF W/O THE BOLT-ON!!! with 20 mins of browsing i have £4.71 left when I had £10.61 before! £5.90 in under half an hour!
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

they are coming out in December

8GB = £299.99

16GB = £359.99

i want it on pay as you go but im not spending £300 for a phone without a video recorder

OK, my iPhone O2 UK PAYG Web and Wi-Fi bolt-on has just been activated. Got sent a text confirming it.
Silly question perhaps, but does anyone know if this new £10 Web&Wifi bolt-on is only for PAYG? Can it be attached to other tariffs such as their Simplicity deals? I only ask because this £10 bolt-on looks like the cheapest way to get both cellular browsing and wifi on a non-contract iPhone - individually they are £7.50 each. Thanks.

If you're getting that message, all you should need to do is fill in this form on the O2 website and they will make your O2 PAYG SIM "iPhone compatible" (whatever that means) within 48 hours.

The SIM was in fact dead, due to not being used for many months (PayG SIMs time out if you don't use them). Replacing it with a new one fixed it.

Just text 'WWW' to 21300 and it (presumably) does the same thing as filling in the form - I have mine setup and working.

It works fine with the 2.0 from Thursday.. which is precisely what my 2G is running.

The reason it didn't work before was O2/Apple hadn't updated the activation screens.

You know that was a development OS for the 3G iPhone, and all dev OS's on iPhone have an expiry date? I strongly advise restoring to the new official 2.0

O2 iPhone Payg Price Documentation

Someone on another forum took this picture and said the prices are due to be released anytime between August-December.

These prices are FAKE. Its a photoshopped picture.

O2 put prices on their website which where £300 for the 8GB and £360 for the 16GB if I remember rightly, although they could change, too as they where taken off after a minute.

I would say its easier to just type it up, print the whole page and take a photo of it.

But rumours near the 11/7 launch did state that the price of the PAYG are to be £349 and £399.

Its not a matter of how much, its a matter of WHEN. I WANT IT NAO~~~~

Anyone managed to get a US iPhone working with this. My 4gb currently says the sim is invalid.....

US iPhones will only connect to AT&T w/o hacking same as UK iPhones only connect to 02 w/o hacking. This only works on 2G UK iPhones.

With a big TBC at the back.

Wiki: TBC may refer to:

* Acronym for "to be continued" or "to be confirmed"

Oh sorry, when I read that quick I thought it said T&C. Like you would get 12 with the 16GB and 6 with the 8GB. That would be cool!

Has anyone thought the PAYG released at the same time as the new iPods (ie. September?) Considering the iPod Touch is probably gonna be given a price crash, the 2.0 software and maybe a few minor adjustments around this time it would probably seem less worthwhile to buy an iPhone for merely it's phone features.

I'd probably be tempted to just buy a Touch and then an £100 phone...

meaning over a 12 month period (assuming after the first 6months you were to pay £10 for data) the 16gig would end up £10 cheaper than the 8? i dont think so!
