Mine has been there for three days now. My status still says processing and expected May 21 - June 4. I've never had an order have the date change this much and never seen an order ship without going through preparing to ship first.

That's interesting. Maybe it's a sign that shipping estimates will drop soon. Apple doesn't just charge your card for authorization and have it drop off.

Nothing personal, but you are obviously an outlier here. Whatever is happening with your card and order is irrelevant to all of us who ordered on the first day.

I think when I ordered my iMac BTO, my card was charged when they started building it. It still took almost a week before it shipped.

I saw the MR article that some of the Apple Watch orders are preparing for shipment -- earlier than expected. Perhaps the same is true of our MacBooks. One can only hope, but I won't have high hopes until I see an actual shipping confirmation.

Except it's happened to more than just him. There's a lot of us who have been getting charged today. I guess we'll see in few days if the charge goes through of but I wouldn't say what's happening to him makes him an outlier except that it happened to him a bit earlier than it happened to a lot of others. I can link you to the thread of people having the same thing happening if you haven't seen it yet.

Gee, sorry to have posted on your personal website.

A pre-charge authorization is useless if it's more than 10 days out as it will expire

But a "Pending Charge" for the full amount is different to a "Pre-charge Authorisation" isn't it?

It has been in my experience. I've never had Apple charge the full amount for a pre-charge authorization.

My 1.3 has moved to "preparing for shipment", right after the charge on my account earlier this morning. This forum has a lot of useless babbling.

Did you order immediately at launch? What was/is your shipping date?

the fact that someone from the UK has been charged is pretty exciting! haven't heard of anyone else in Europe receiving one yet, so hopefully that's about to change!

I ordered pretty early on but I expected others to have done the same tbh. Hopefully some more will get the same soon and we'll finally get our hands on it :)

yes i ordered at launch, my shipping date is not set. The date is still sitting at its original may 6th ETA, but that will change soon of course.

I think 3bs's is a pending charge like mine, rather than an actual charge, but I may have misunderstood.

Nevertheless, watch this space!

No you're right it's still pending but that happens to all online transactions I make so I don't see why it would be different for this Apple charge. It takes a few days to show up in my recent transactions. Order still says "processing items" though.

I ordered two. One is a 1.3ghz space gray. The other is a 1.3ghz gold. The space gray got marked preparing for shipment. The gold is still processing...

Mine is preparing for shipment! What a nice surprise.

Mine just changed too! what a nice surprise!

We are in exactly the same boat. I'm hopeful that we might see a positive change of order status in the next 24 hours.
