I won't go into much detail here, but I'm worried about the watch. I ordered it site unseen and then went in and did a try on appointment (wasnt blown away as i hoped i would be)... I hope i fall in love with it within 14 days!

Tbh I'm not that impressed with the features so I held off on buying one plus the 1.3/512 cost a lot. I think I'll wait for the next gen and the next OS update. I like the way it looks, it's just lacking in what I can see myself using it for.
 
Mine also changed to preparing to ship.

I seem to remember that when I last ordered my iMac, the preparing to ship appeared but when the actually shipping tracking number was issued, the computer had already shipped (as in it shipped the day it was marked preparing to ship).

Obviously I was wrong about the charge when it was being built.

I guess we'll see in few days if the charge goes through of but I wouldn't say what's happening to him makes him an outlier except that it happened to him a bit earlier than it happened to a lot of others. He *wasn't* charged today, that's my whole point. He is a different situation here than everyone else who order on the first day.

Also, mine just moved to Preparing for Shipment. Seems pretty universal that if you ordered early, yours is shipping very soon, as I predicted earlier in the thread. Yay!
 
Processing Items w/odd pre-auth

After reading this thread I checked my status and is says "Processing Items" but the Available to Ship is still 3 - 4 weeks with Delivers May 8 - 15.

Then I checked my credit card and there is a pre-authorization from Apple yesterday, 4/21, for $263.32. I have no idea what that amount is; my order total is $2,112.89 w/shipping.

I ordered the morning of 4/10.

Did you order any accessories? Could be for that. Otherwise I'm not sure.
 
Card charged today. Order is 'Preparing for Shipment'.

1.3 BTO 256 in SG.

Denver.

Ordered about 9am MST.

I also ordered Apple Care at $249 so that is probably it with tax. Good call!

It seems odd they would charge and ship AppleCare separately; in the past it always shipped with the machine.

A lot about Apple has been handling this rMB release hasn't made sense so it's not a first :p
 
1.3 256 SG. States preparing for shipment. Ordered morning of release @ 3:20 am from MN

Damn! If I wouldn't have changed my mind about wanting the gold color (and cancelled) my new rMB would now be 'preparing for shipping' right now. Argh!!!!
 
Okay... Just received a FedEx shipment notification, a package weighing 1.9kg is en route from Shanghai. Estimated delivery is Tuesday. Not sure if that's the MacBook or my Apple watch order. Neither says "shipped" yet on the Apple site. At almost 4.5 pounds, I'm thinking it's the rMB. I'll be very pleasantly surprised if it shows up Tuesday!

My 1.3/512 SG MacBook just shipped.

I'm betting your notice is from your MacBook and not the Apple Watch (unless it's both).

Mine is scheduled for delivery on Monday.
 
Also at Preparing to Ship for 1.3/256/Space Gray, but can't find tracking by reference on FedEx/UPS no matter which phone number/order number I try. Maybe tomorrow :rolleyes:

That is one heavy watch... Maybe it is the manual that takes up most of the weight? :D
 
Well that didn't take long! My 1.3/256/Space Gray is shipped and arriving Monday

Weight for me is also showing 1.9 kg/4.19 lbs
